I feel like it was about this time that video games were really becoming mainstream. It wasn't shortly after that we saw channels like "Tech TV" for the first time.
wow, the old days. the crappy electro takes me back, reminds me of the music on ps1 demo disks. it was indeed a simpler time of nerdliness, before it became more mainstream. sigh.
Okay, let's talk PSX vs N64 for a moment; this time of longevity and quality. Of those who still have N64 cartridges, how many are still playable today? Of those of you still who have PSX discs, how many of those are still playable today?
BACK IN THE DAY I USED TO PLAY THE GOOD OL' CLASSIC CONTROLLER BUTOON VIDEO GAMES.
Let us celebrate what the 90s is, it's now the 2010's decade and it may be 20 years apart now, but beware people. Never forget these days your entire life.
I don't see how people can say PS1 graphics compare to those on N64...
Nintendo 64's games blew away everyone when they were released... Mario 64, Zelda 64, Wave Race, Banjo... all showed the gaming community which system was the most powerful.
For every great N64 game, there were 50 great PS1 games. Nothing will ever top the PS1. The PS2 was close, and the SNES is right up there with the them.
@Remliv For every N64 game there were 500 PS1 games, so sure. With all the games coming in for the PSX, there were bound to be a couple good ones. Many developers, including Square, jumped ship and went for the freedom and capacity of CD-ROM...they were also much much cheaper to produce. N64 cartridges were bulky and expensive and had limited storage capacity. N64 had amazing games with superior graphics, but lacked 3rd party support, and GameCube continued that trend.
lanlost if ur a nintendo 64 fan then how come you say that you hate so much and you traded it and it was worst mistake of your life ur not a fan so before you start going aroung acting like a smartass make sure you know what ur saying
Bah, PS1 _WAS_ much better than the 64. I am much more of a Nintendo fan than Sony fan and even I will say this.
By a long, long, long shot.
This doesn't mean that the N64 didn't have some AMAZING games. People tend to remember all the great N64 games but forget just how many games were.. beyond terrible.
The ratio of good to bad games was MUCH worse on the N64 than the PS1.
The good games it did have, were.. pretty amazing.
SNES > all. I sold my SNES for a N64. Worst mistake of my life.
YOU CRAZY!!!.... The n64 graphics was way better then the ps1... ps1 has blocks everywhere!!!!! look at super mario 64.....no blocks at all anywhere....... besides the characters
I didn't say the graphics were better on the PS1..
I'm purely talking about the final game/gameplay.
The only thing N64 had graphics wise on the PS1 was BILINEAR FILTERING. That's why it wasn't 'blocky' (Pixilated). PS1 had almost if not the same amount of raw polygon pushing power.
The late, late, late N64 games like Conker's Bad Fur Day and Banjo Kazooie and Dk64 really pushed the N64 past anything the PS1 could do graphically.
However, In the time of the Ps1 it looked just fine.
Not to mention that the N64 had the tiniest fucking amount of texture memory. You would end up having super, crazy small textures smeared and stretched all over the place a lot of times the pixilation of the Ps1 ended up looking better.
what the fuck where is starcraft alpha
