I was there the evening of this video in Denver. That weekend and the private I took from him has affected my dancing ever since. I hold him in the highest esteem as a person and a dancer. I miss him.
Ricardo Vidort was a true master. And this dance is beautiful, but in this recording sound and image are little of. I have seen this video on some other website with aligned sound and it is fantastic. Is there any chance to upload this video again with correct sound and picture...
Ricardo Vidort celebrated 64 years in the milongas. I was privileged to dance with him in the milongas of Buenos Aires. He was a great dancer who shared his knowledge with all who were interested in learning from him.
It is such a wonderful video! I am moved by the authenticity of milongueros like Ricardo Vidort. At this stage of their life they are closer to death than life. In their dancing I feel the simplicity of the absolute essential. There is nothing superficial. Nothing to impress. They just dance one more time, with their full strength and artistic experience. And all this artistic experience of probably 50 years or so, shows up.
