@tomilivesey My 1.8T Golf is a hatch back and it's more tuneable, £250 gets you a remap adding 50bhp, saxo cam's cost £390 and adds 15-20bhp. Also n/a cars dont have as many tuning parts as turbo cars, intercoolers, bigger turbos, turbo pipes, waste gates, better induction, dump valves and so on. Get your facts right you bum, also a VTS has 120bhp not 130bhp and weighs 935kgs not 700kgs. Fail

1:29 those fogs let it down imo. I would prefer twin rounds personally. 16" rims are about right for a smaller car, anything bigger looks silly i think and ruin the ride around town. It looks nice and discreet and thats the way I think it should be. No stupidly big exhaust making lots of noise, no stupid body kit, a nice tidy car. No stupid rear clear clusters which make a car look chavvy. Wing mirrors need a touch of chrome tho to complement the rims. chrome surround on number plates! nice! :)

My Saxo vts handles better and is quicker than a 2.7 liter Hyundai coupe and quicker than a 4.4 Range Rover Sport. So you may want to take that comment back its clear to me you no nothing about cars and you know your car wouldn't stand a chance in hell of keeping up. Your a saw loser. I haven't raced a 4.4 Liter Range Rover Sport. I just said it that because the Saxo has a better 0-60 time but I'm sure on a long straight the Range Rover would pull ahead because it has 175 more bhp.

I don't know what a prang is. But I do know there aren't many cheap 1.6 liter cars that can do 0-60 in under 8 seconds and can do over 130mph and take corners really well. I used to hate french cars but I changed my mind very quickly when I got to know the Saxo. It is an outstandingly awesome car. Forget the build quality, you would love the Saxo.

A Prang is a crash. Personally i would have the Zetec S. Just as fast, better made and far more reliable. I had a VTR and a VTS. They are quick but they are on the whole fairly terrible.

no way! ford is im not even a ford fan but they shit on citroen. my VTR what went wrong. drivers side droplinks wore out after 1000k, Wheel bearings all round needed replacing 2 times, Fuel injectors stopped injecting fuel. Idle control valve jammed open 4 times. Exhaust fell off, Power steering pump failed, Temp Sender failed. All within 6 months left side rear caliper siezed. My X plated focus zetec......still going nothing has gone wrong

Well my vts is running fine. If ford is so good why are they so behind. A 2 liter bmw does 7 more mpg and is quicker than the focus which is lighter. Fords have no character, there no fun.

The 1997 Saxo is quicker than a new fiesta st does that mean anything to you. The C4 is quicker than a focus St and a Nissan Sunny GTi-R will beat a Focus RS. Any Ford someone with a cheaper, smaller engined car will rip it to shreds.

The Pulsar GTIR will do seeing as it does 0-60 in about 5 secs. thers no saxo that wil do that. There is no mistaking that the saxo is a QUICK car but that doesn't mean its a good car. Fair enough its nippy but if you judge a car on just how quick it is then quite frankly you dont know anything about cars. Im not saying you do. Just silly to judge a car on that

Mine is a -95 540 with the 6-speed manual, the speed limiter removed, its got about 315 bhp after a few mods i made to it. 0-60 in 6,1 and a top speed of about 270km/h.

I payed 2000 euros for it(mods included) anyone can get one for about a months paycheck, even you :)

Why didn't Citroen aim the C2 at the young lads who had adopted the Saxo as the King of street racers? I never see geezers driving C2's, only middle-aged women! They lost their market niche with that one! Honda's Civic type r is the closest thing I can think of as a replacement but that has 200bhp which is a bit high and puts it in a HIGH insurance group, keeping a lot of youngsters away.

Doubt it keeps up even til 60, it probably creeps away from the start. 150bhp, little more than 8s 0-60. Your saxo 100hp prob around 9s with good shifts. Prob keeps up til around 40. If you said you had a VTS, I'd believe you!
