Very nicely done!

I just started trying to make a fire this way, but I'm having trouble. I can't get a coal. I get TONS of smoke and everything gets hot as hell but only what I would call ashes... no coal. Any tips on what I'm doing wrong? Do I need to have a hole all the way through the board like you do? That's the main difference I see between what you are doing and what I have tried so far.

U probly need to cut the groove all the way through......im just starting out too an most of the vids ive watched have the groove cut through the board so thats probly yer problem.
