@jj9345 try and imagine your washing machine set to 100% and being inside that. And when you fall you sometimes "get the wind knocked out of you". And then after you spend 1-2 mins under water, the next wave in the set will hit you again. But hey, it's a really fun sport, but you have to respect the ocean.
@gymfreak0 yah I know man. thats why i'm afraid of the ocean at times. knowing that at any moment a wave huge as wave can come and kill you kinda turns me off lol. I like to watch surf vids though, but i still worry for all surfers lol.
@jj9345 well you prob wont go out when it is 40+ feet. You prob wont go out when it is bigger than 3-4 feet if you are new. Also, the people that surf these waves(Greg Long) can hold their breath soooooo long(4 mins i think).
@gymfreak0 wow. yah I think I was boogie boarding before and I got a 10+ foot wave and was rag dolled the first time but the second time I held it up as hard as I could and it felt SOOOOOO POWERFUL. I was like "SHIT!!! PULL UP PULL UP." lol
@jj9345 i doubt 10 ft, but maybe 5. The waves are a lot bigger when you are in the water. And a 5 ft wave is actually very powerful. 10-15ft broke my board. But you gotta respect the ocean.
@gymfreak0 you're probably right lol. all I know is that it was twice as big as me and i'm 5'9'' - 5'10'' and it was really powerful lol. yah not only the ocean, but all of nature you have to respect.

@jj9345 when you fall, you hold your breath and wait. because you wont know which way is up and if you swim, you could be swimming down
