Are you shitting me? The 300zx was specifically designed with twin turbos because it has a v6. Each bank of cylinders (2 dual overhead cams) match the 2 turbos making the end result a higher low end to mid range torque 1000-3500 tq output, then each turbo kicks in pushing the car through the end 7000 rpms. A SINGLE TURBO is designed for INLINE 6's. This is common knowledge or "should be" in the car enthusiast world. But what is common sense these days.
you do realize the vast majority of strait 6 engines came with 2 turbo's right? Your theory has a few flaws such as comparing a turbo designed in 1989 to one designed over 20 years later. A few minor changes in design like ball bearings, compressor wheels, twin scrolls housings make a bit of a difference don't ya think? 3 years of research went into this car before I lifted a wrench, I must be doing something right with a dyno graph showing 597whp/ 480wtq on regular 91 octane.
@ChrisdeKrazy The first generation 300ZX (Z31 chassis, 1984-1989) used a SOHC VG30 (VG30E) available with a SINGLE turbo variant. It simply uses a crossover tube to merge the passenger side bank with the exhaust gases from the drivers side bank.
So let me get this strait, your comparing your almost stock 300zx with 7 mods, to a show and track car that was purpose built from the ground up with close to 100 modifications?
@blackrc33 hey, your z is nice but i'm just being realistic. no one will ever buy your 300zx for $25,000, let alone, any 300zx for $25,000. someone would rather purchase a z06 or a slightly used BMW 335, etc. Dressup Bolt's 300zx 2jz 500whp car sold for $12k on nicoclub. and for mentioning my z. it has conservative mods with decent numbers. it's a 381whp fully loaded z without a scratch inside or out. we have yet to see the interior on this $25,000 z32.
@joe645733 the difference is this one is built, though 25k is a lot someone looking for something fast and if he knows anything he would take this over a stock corvette for the same price, keep in mind i built my own z but someone whose looking for something already built and built well would take interest in this, its custom, it looks sick, and its fast, if its built right (which im not doubting I think youll get plenty interest especially from z fanatics, sick build!!!! and good luck with sale
I've seen quite a few built Z's with around 400-450whp go for around the 12-14k mark. Problem is they need higher octane to make anymore than that, mine runs 91 octane and I daily 597whp. I've also lowered my price to 20k with a spare engine and transmission I had kicking around, hoping to get more interest. Sadly it's a shitty market right now but at least I get to enjoy it a while longer :) For those curious, my mod list can be seen @ 300zx.webs.com
@sillydillydokieo you're acting like that's common. your Z isn't mint condition or you're lying. a mint condition Z with that kind of mileage will go around $12k these days. and i bought mine 3 years ago.
thanks! I'm selling because driving around in a work van all winter isn't much fun, I want an awd year round toy to play with... preferably an 05ish STI for now :)
fucking nice car! if only you were selling it for 10g :( haha. are those lmgt4's 18 x 9.5 +30 offset all the way around? im guessing your tires are 45 series?
?? DONT 300ZX COME TWIN TURBO OR NON TURBO ONLY? WOW! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW U MADE THESE MODIFICATIONS TO A NON TURBO ENGINE. I THOUGHT 300ZX ONLY COME TWIN TURBO? NICE..

It's a twin turbo motor, I just plumbed it for a single turbo instead of 2 turbo's. Wanted to be different and I had a perfect turbo kicking around :)
This car still for sale? Shit i would buy for 10g

And what if it had a twin turbo huh ;))))

@MichaelJordan123Now Less power. People go with single turbos to make more power.

@novakv3 there's a built Z on zilvia.net going for 12k. the only thing is that it doesn't have the turbo's to reach 700hp.
