  • Main Character/Bassist/Singer - David Daut is hot...

  • lol i liked it :D ^_^

  • dude, that's pretty sweet........

  • What is the point of this!?

  • I thought the video was great, I take it you guys don't actually play those instruments?

  • it is AWESOME!!

  • ok so it sucked ......u had to rock out more and start headbutting but anyway good job

  • weird /

  • hey guys it derek dalton that cool i like. call me some time ok

  • Amazing!! You guys are astonishing!! It was really gud friends, the latter half of video as amazing..please tell me which softare you used.I aspire being a director..watch my videos too..i've made a similar attempt for 'Given Up' by linkin park..it's called 'suffocating'..do watch it guys.and all the best for future!!

  • I like that! (I think, everybody knows it that not they are singing. It was strange only that the video doesn't end yet when the music ends effectively. This video not a bad one, because there is an idea, thoughts, strength to the realisation.) Thank you!

  • @Tavaszom Thank you very much. It's nice to see that we're getting an international audience as well as an American one. We felt when making this video that the core idea and the emotion had to be really strong or else it wouldn't be worth making. The instruments and the musical 'performance' were simply used to give it the traditional feel of a music video but are in reality the most non-essential parts of the piece. Thank you for picking up on that, and thank you for your kind words.

  • Hey, it's better than Guitar Hero!

  • so fake. 1:23 hitting thw tom when there's supposed to be a cymbal crash

  • nice vid guys, keep up the great work, try to make some other vids, and fuck what the haters say, there hater thats their job.

  • I think the concept was awesome. In this day and age when so many of our children are apathetic and damaged; turning to gangs and drugs to ease the way too fast-paced living of the 21st century, it is nice to see some of them take a positive approach and find something that they can believe in. So what if some think it is cheesy. This was a heart felt tribute to the song. This video made me love this song.

  • nice vid.you guys should try to make some more.

  • Honestly? I think that trying to do more for the video would obliterate the song's simplicity. There's only so much any video can give to a song before it starts to take away. That being said, I think this is the best possible interpretation of the song.

  • nice video guys!

  • omg... you serious?

  • Its not as bad as the idiots say. Everyone has to hate even though they could do no better. Ignore them.

  • i was kind of diappointed because i expected a cover. i think maybe you guys should do another video with no instruments and just the story concept. that i think would be cool. can't judge you since i've never made a video before.

  • And first of all I'm not ignorant. I understand the song. This vid just sucks. Cheesy camera angles. The cut scenes of the drummer is what made me laugh the most. I showed this to my friends at school and they thought it was hilarious

  • Well I'm sorry that you didn't like it, but considering we filmed this in a two day time window, with a cast and crew of three people, a budget of $0, and no time to do reshoots, we're pretty proud of it. There are definitely things that, given the time, we could have done better, but for what it is we're proud of it, and at the very least you got a laugh out of it.

  • @WhyIsProductions .....well i have to say...it did sucked.....but putting all that effort in it.....was hard....so excellent job!!!!!

  • @Chopdawg09

why dont you give them a little credit. sure maybe they dont have nice camera angles and cant perfectly time all the notes for the instruments but i would like to see you do better with no money and not a lot of time.

  • sorry guys but this really sucks

  • Ok do you mind telling us what sucks about it?

Once again people, we accept, and appreciate, constructive criticism. However, if we start seeing more comments like this, negative comments with no explanation, they will be deleted.

  • @WhyIsProductions ok sure, first of all sorry but i don't see the purpose of trying this, if anything do a live cover of the song or something. but a fake cover music vid of an awesome song kinda seems like a big FAIL. also you could've picked a better location than some guys room, and ya some of the instruments didn't line up which was dumb and i also dont see why your writing lyrics down when the lyrics are shown on the screen anyways

  • Well as for the fake cover and the location, that was all part of our original concept. We wanted this to feel as close to a professional music video as we could get with a budget of $0. In most professionally done music videos the band is playing to a pre-recorded track, sure it may be the real band playing, but you aren't hearing what was recorded on the set. So we did the same thing, the only problem was that we aren't all professional musicians and hiring RED was a bit outside our $0 budget.

  • As for the location, we chose to have it all set inside a bedroom because we wanted a place that could feel comfortable and isolated at the same time. We wanted it to feel like this guy was trapped in this room, but also that he was choosing to be there. We were going for a theme of duality, and I thought we pulled it off pretty well, but perhaps there was more we could have done. As for the lyrics, I agree, that was a weak scene and we probably could have done better there.

  • Also, when we typed up the captions for the lyrics, we didn't know that it would play with them on by default. That bothers us immensely and we wish we could have them default to 'off.'

Thank you for taking the time to tell us what you thought.

  • although this is a home made vid, it still great^^it really have a great effect on the theme of the song

  • i love RED! Awesome vid. I saw this from Hancock. GREAT JOB!

  • This is probably the dumbest thing i've seen. First of all, I bet your cheap ass squire p bass sounds super great when you tune that e string down to a b. Second, the drummer looks like he's been playing for 2 weeks. The guitar player is the only one who doesn't look like an idiot. Try again kids. This sucks so bad, I thought it was a joke.

  • I'm so happy that you completely missed the point of the video. We weren't performing this live so we weren't necessarily concerned about being 100% with the instruments. We all had different musical abilities, varying from Josh, who is in an amazing up-and-coming rock band to David, who has next to no musical ability.

Again, though, the playing wasn't the point. It was a means to an end. The point was the story of the video, something that was obviously completely lost to you.

  • We don't mind constructive criticism, in fact we encourage it. If you respectfully tell us what you didn't like we'll assess it and use it to inform our decisions in the future, but if you come in here with a completely ignorant comment, and an obvious intent of flame baiting, we won't respond to that.

The reason I allowed your post to show up is so I could make a point. We're not trying to censor our critics, but if anyone posts a comment that is rude, insulting, or vulgar, we will delete it.

  • dont really c the point of the vid sorry...

  • The video tells a story that relates to the theme of the song. The song talks about how often times we are our own worst enemies, and that there is a 'fight inside' all of us between our different feelings.

In this video the main character is struggling with guilt, friends he has lost or betrayed, and whether he should forgive himself and move on or succumb to his guilt. We portrayed this by having him literally trapped inside that room, fighting with himself to escape, and eventually losing.

  • We thought the song would fill in whatever story the visuals alone didn't, but perhaps we should have made it a bit more clear.

  • this is beast!

  • Awesome job thank you

  • nice work

  • On 2:57 of the song the snare is off time with the song, but kool video 9/10.

  • Thanks, that was my (David's) fault in editing. Kaei and Josh both did fantastic playing, so any errors with their instruments were the fault of the editor.

  • Yay! Red!!! :D My favorite song is Never Be The Same. You should try that one, too!

  • nvr be the same is like fight inside just more achoustic and slow

  • Good video coprighted or not its too cool and u didnt even have to leave your house!

  • omfg. awsome,5 stars man.cool screenshots. you guys are like the future version of RED. YOU GUYS SHOULD TOTALLY DO YOUR VERSION OF HIDE AND ALREADY OVER, OR SOME OTHER SONGS. EXCELENT JOB DUDES.

  • Hahah

  • YEAH! I LOVE YA DAVID! Nice job. (Hello my awesome drums)

  • Good job. 5/5
