This is GREAT!! Good for her and good on the parents!
I can appreciate (only a little) that ignorant people "may" think this is harmful...but that's ONLY because of your ignorance. A little research can go a long way for those who sadly never do it. An apparatus called a "plantogram" was used to measure the stress on kids and any potential harm to joints and/or growth. The findings determined the guidelines for adolescents and teens. DO NOT exceed lifting more than their body-weight! ;-)
I am amazed this still gwts comments. She had been playing and had done several before I got the camera running. There are no forced workouts here. LOL. She is a fit and trim 9 year old now and NOT in gymnastics. Soo....peace everybody :)
listen, anyone here saying that getting your kid to do pullups is bad/abusive parenting is an absolute idiot. Everyone in America could benefit from being taught physical fitness goals at a young age.
However...i have to admit i'm less than pleased with the shorts you have your daughter wearing
Working out doesn't stunt growth. If anything, it would stimulate the production of HGH, Androgenic muscle receptors and increase skeletol structure. Do your research before you make assumptions based on seeing really strong men that are 5"5. I am really strong and 6"3, so according to your logic I should be 7"0? Doesn't work that way. It's good to see a parent feeding their child knowledge and health, and not McDonalds and Selfishness.
good job becca!! all u people that think its dangerous,ur crazy!!! i do agree at some point its not good for her [thats if shes doing up to 150 a day] but if shes just doing a few in the park then let it be!! keep it up sweetie!!
im laughing at you guys who say it's bad for her bones..shes at the prime age to begin any sport that could damage her bones! espcially gymnastics..which she should get into!! great job girlie =]
Careful mom, her bones are not as strong as your bones. That is way too much for her. You should've teach her simple exercises. Don't force a child into bodyweight exercise during his or her early age, because it might affect his or her growth.
So a pullup isn't a "simple" exercise? It's one of the most basic functional movements that can be done. A child's bones are designed to be strong enough to support his/her own body weight. Sure, her bones aren't as strong as her mother's, but she's not lifting her mother, she's lifting herself. It won't hurt her; it's good for her. Good job, Becca! Keep it up!
Actually, I don't make her work out at all. She was playing and showing off. The reason I asked her to do 'one more' is because she had done several prior to that and I wanted to get them on film. She was tired. Thanks for your concern, though. :)
the sex was pretty hot when we did it

Some proper fucking idiots posting here.
Well done to your daughter, long may she be active and not a fat lump being fed crap by uneducated and lazy parents.

She looks oddly muscular for a kid girl? Those legs look like she could run a mile faster than me >_>

Is that why most gymnasts are short?
FlippinTitan2010 3 years ago
yup! alota "working out" is in there schedule. and it stunts there growth. weird they do alot of "simple" exercises to....
alex95187 2 years ago
I'm a former gymnast, and i'm short. I quit competitively 3 years ago, and I have grown 8 and half inches.
FlippinTitan2010 2 years ago
Lifting heavy weights as a child before puberty has a detrimental effect on bones which are not yet fully developed.
Bodyweight exercises are fine.

Working out is bad for your health? How so?
tspdkegw 4 years ago
Working out as a child isn't good for you. Their bodies need to concentrate on growing rather than building muscle.
spitinthacoola 3 years ago
True. But if your happy with your height it doesn't matter.

@ak8s Thas darn good. She seems like a lil dynamo and a character too. Shucks, she's doing better than some people 3 times her age and size.
