People must not know Morbid Angel. Like most, I think their debut "Altars Of Madness" is the best and will NEVER be equaled. HOWEVER, after all these things I've been hearing, I was expecting this to sound like MA's "Cold Lake". Remember the Frost failure? Fact is, this music DOES sound like MA and anybody who has all the releases can clearly hear it. They have always been odd and untraditional and interesting. This sounds like MA though. Listen to the drumming and freaky guitar riffs.DUH! Kids!

And... as you can see by this track they could easily play an album that sounds like this. I respect the fact that they tried something new like they did on Altars, and I bet there was a lot of the media and glamrock fans saying exactly what youre saying now... Morbid Angel sux etc etc.... They could play generic Morbs all day, but they chose to be creative. Too many bands these days all sound the fucken same....bands you undoubtedly love. Extreme music should be aired out a little now and then.

They are pioneers that influenced bands that influenced the bands you love. Altars, sick, Covenant, Domination, Flesh, Gateways and Heretic were for the most part awesome.They never sold out and do what they want, as always - and that freedom produced groundbreaking stuff. Show some respect. They shaped the very genre you compare them to. The new album is a bit lame, but they still are morbs. Every album they do is original. You don't like the fact that they still experiment. Cliche is comfort.
