Funny, in an MMA fight against Takada Bernado shit his pants and refused to engage at all for the entire fight, but against a 40Kg lighter opponent he's happy to try some illegal wrestling throws. What a cowardly meat head.
@darrell5342 yeah you'll see that alot in kickboxing fights. Theres a couple of reasons to do that but alot of times its to take a breather, like clinching in boxing. Same shit, different toilet.
I want kaoklai front kick. and his front kick to right straight combo....tomorrow i will start training it. and i want buakaw's left kick, I want badr hari fists. i want ignashov's low kicks. and....Jerry Morris defence...and Jerry Morris spirit and heart. and Jerry Morris in my corner. And then I want to be 99 kilo and 193 cm tall. Well. Big list. so far i got the last of all. i am 193. Goals are not meant to be reached. it should be something to aim for...Bruce Lee said that.
@playnite You like to read gay comments and respond to them....hmm you are smelling fishy....maybe frustrated that you dont like to eat pussy as much as you would like to in order to feel a man.? to bad for you bitch. you're a fag
kaoklai is the best fighter alive. let me elaborate. he is great for betters. he is great for thailand. thai people love to challange bigger foreigners. they are also a little bit arrogant. but most of the time the thai wins. and kaoklai wants to proove this can be done every where in every ring, even k1. Respect for him. he is very enterntaining
@B0l0joe Really? I didn't really see Bernardo being bothered there. Bernardo's left hook at 4:06 was a square hit though. I think the fall was more to prevent having to fight in the clinch. At that range, Bernardo is at a disadvantage. Kaoklai can knee Bernardo's legs, while he can't use his knees effectively because of the difference in size.
I mean, it's Bernardo. He's boxing oriented mostly. The clinch is a bad place to be for him. Here, he solves that problem well.
i only just started watching kaoklai vids, but every time i watch he seems to have much poor form compared to other muay thai fighters, like baukaw. dunno, his guard isnt even up half the time...
@mal: I don't think he lowers to provoke and dodge, it just looks like he just made a poor habit of it. I've seen most of his vids but I dont see any phenomenal dodging, just a few good dodges which could have been easily attributed to luck. For a muay thai fighter as well, his kicks are slow and poor form. And to the guy that said his stance is similar to a TKD stance, he's right about that. I dunno why you guys thumb down on correct observations
A few lucky dodges? Maybe you should pay more attention to these videos you`ve been watching. Even in this one with Mike Bernardo he spends the whole fight dodging and counterstriking. It`s not luck, he has a very specific training for that. I think you can find some videos of his training too, like dodging baseballs and such.
I see him spending the whole fight TRYING to dodge punches, whilst pulling of some successful ones. There aren't many, and you'd be kidding yourself if you said there were. His kicks are not particularly impressive. If he wanted to do dodging and and countering, why didn't he just learn boxing? The only thing muay
Well, they are subtle but there's quite a good hand of dodges in this one - I mean, what's a good dodging count for you? -. I do agree that Kaoklai has gotten a bit clumsy in his lattest fights, maybe overconfident and dependant of his dodging skills, I don't know... But I saw him ko'd at least twice latelly. His kicks aren't particularly impressive, but effective nonetheless. Not slow at all in my opinion.
You should watch his fights against Hong Man Choi and Mighty Mo if you haven't already, those are impressive ones. Countering IS a basic technique for muay thai, at full muay thai ruled matches you can see it quite often, not so much in k-1 rules. The dodging part I can't say for sure, I think it's more of a style some fighters choose.
Fair enough, I just never knew why he's so popular. He just doesn't seem particularly impressive to me, except for fighting bigger opponents which I give kudos for.
Yeah, I never did get why he only fights bigger opponents. And why he looks slim but is actually 35 pounds heavier than Buakaw, for instance; they're practically the same height and Buakaw looks much heavier. I always wanted to see a fight between them, that would be epic.
@malcontents lol i reckon buakaw is lighter looking because of body proportions, kaoklai has a pretty big head... he also has deceptively meaty legs. buakaw has longer limbs, smaller head, he just looks heavier but not in reality
Kaoklai is the man, always fighting huge guys and winning so often.hes got huge powerful legs,k1 is the best fight sport to watch to bad it doesnt get the exposure in britain, use to b on eurosport all the time.
Kaoklai seems to be BETTER against guys bigger than him! He seems to be really good at capitalizing on the agility and speed advantages of being smaller. Against guys his own size he doesn't seem to do as well!
haha yeah i noticed.. i dont understand why so many people on here cant speak logically. its like they're from another planet and trying to piece together a language they've never even heard of... anyways Kaoklai in my opinion was too agile for this guy.
look at bernardo's fights he is a warrior. I give it up to both fighters. but you can't say he is better unless he wins. Thats like saying mayweather is a better boxer then tyson.
