I'm a guy and I really would take this over a v8 mustang even the new 412 hp GT for several reasons. First of all its lighter on the front end which means the steering will be lighter and easier on you for long drives. It also means this is more fun than a GT on a twisty road. Second of all, if you only buy the performance mods and leave the paint alone you get a very nice sleeper. Third even though the 2011 v6 has 305 hp this car still has 70 hp on top of that. And used V6s are cheap!

Just checked EBAY Motors completed auctions and found a 2005 V6 with 5-speed that sold for $6500. If someone were a hard core Mustang fanatic, there are cheap cars to be found to get modded. What 375hp light weight Mustang for around $24,500? Not a bad deal for a Mustang guy.

On another note, many Shelby owners were hoping the Terlingua was going to be available as a supercharged V8, but no luck there. Still a cool car- a real tribute to the 1967 Terlingua race car (even though it had a N/A V8).

It's just simple physics. A lighter car will corner and respond better than a nose-heavy or heavier car. Look at a car like the Lotus 7 or Exige or any other lightweight racer. The people who scoff and say only pussies and fags drive V6's are just trying to compensate for their own closeted insecurities and small pecks so they naturally need someone to try to dominate. Most or them are fat too and lack girlfriends I've noticed.

lighter=better in FWD only. Rear-wheels that have no weight up front will barrel right through an intersection. CPD went on strike for a while in the mid 90's because the city d/ced the Caprice Classics and went Crown Vics. Ever tried to do a 90 corner in a car doing 60+ that had less than 300 hp? NOT pretty. Over a dozen CV's were lost to TRAINING exercises. Chicago didn't need to lose that many cops. They lost, and the cops are back in their Classics. Try to outrun one; I won't miss you... X-P

not sure about roush.... steeda makes a V6 package that's pretty trick as well, but with this car you get a Shelby VIN #, which I like. Kudos for remembering my discussing the prospect of this very car though :)

you know i thought about that someone could buy a new v6 for about 17k and pick up a shelby 5.4 engine for 15k and other goodies will run you up about 3k or if you want irs and suspension mods lets say 7k instead so if you do it yourself for about 40k and you have a totally kick ass car thats a total sleeper

i beg to differ i helped build a 80s mustang with about 600hp to the rear wheels and we had that thing muffled down enough it was as quite if not quieter than the original 4cyl you had to get really close to it to tell it even had a cam so it can be done. besides that what i mentioned above i wasn't thinking about breaks thats a small bundle in itself. but still the shelby is a better price you can pick one up for 40k easy i would personally grab one of those and improve suspension.

They don't suck if you realize they're about 400 pounds lighter than the GT500, plus they have better weight distribution, they're nothing compared to a GT500, but THEY DON'T SUCK. To be honest with you I actually think the Terminators are superior than the GT500's, first of all, again, because of the weight issue, second, because of the cheap upgrade parts, and last, because they're about half the price of a GT500. To finish this, I'll say they're not as good as a GT500, but THEY DON'T SUCK.

don't know exactly the curb weight, but it is 276 pounds lighter than a mustang GT, so probably about 3050 pounds. What's important is that most of the weight comes out of the nose, giving the car an almost perfect 50/50 weight balance.
