Just got done with the snorkel on my '88 S10, 3 1/2" lift, with 33x12.50R15 Mud terrains...Does great when wheeling, but in the 2 and a half feet of melting snow, and SEVERE Lack of weight, I can barely tredge through that stuff. I get through (Eventually), but man, it's crazy. :D Need a heavier vehicle to do stuff like that or wait til a foot of snow melts. xD
@BubonicPlague88 I use a rear backho tire for my 73 f250 and it seems to work although I must say that sometimes when I'm going through snow, I need even more weight than that. I have a stock 3" lift on 315/75/16 Maxxis that just runs right through the snow like a hot butter knife.

@mudfreak79 I could be wrong but in my experience a skinnier tire has more tendency to cut through the snow and mud to something solid beneath and grab. but hey, whatever works for you keep at it
@redneckdiesel90 you are right there, skinnier is better. I have switched to the 11 wide boggers and they do work better. But a wider one on the back seems to work better then skinny on all 4.

throw some skinny tires on there or run skinnier rims to pull the sidewalls out so you're not running on the bald middles. look at any mud tire in the junkyard, they still have side lugs because they were run on wide rims

I like those dentside fords. my buddy has a 77, we put a 14 bolt out back and a 79 dana 60 in the front, it sits on 38" boggers and will go pretty good.
Don't those little Jeeps have a nylon reverse gear in them? They may have used less fuel, but the Ford sounds SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! Only the cars with the serious horspower were really able to conquer those hills. The jeeps just didnt sound like they had it. Normally ive seen jeeps be unstopable. and I thought it was funny at the end when that suburban or whatever it was put all the other truxks to shame
I have found that wide tires only help on bottomless snow, because you float on top. With anything else (ie firm ground below), I get better results with a narrow tire. But, airing down also helps if you do have wide tires. Spraying them with silicone helps the snow clear the treads better as well. I drive an F-250 though...maybe it has to do with the vehicle.

The key to offroading in snow is narrow tires. You guys have tires that are too fat. Narrow tires will dig right through the snow and hit solid ground. Obviously deep snow, you are S.O.L. But, it was still a cool video to watch.
