I am an audiophile, have a dedicated DAC, amp, blah blah blah. My friend came over with his beats and I tried them out. STAY AWAY. The bass was awful and overcooked. There was no high range, and the midrange has way too might high bass crossover. I lent him my Audiotechnica ATH-M50s, which i picked up for $140 as opposed to $350, and he sold them five days later and picked up a set of M50s. You are paying for a NAME, not quality.

Well balanced? WELL BALANCED?! These things are shit. Bose are better than these. I listened to hip hop and bass heavy songs and they sound pretty nice, but put rock music or instruments and they totally drown out the crisp sound. Instruments sound muddy and gained.

Same with the other John's beats and Drew's beats. I just don't like the sound of rock and instrumentals on them. They are pretty awesome for bass heavy songs but I don't listen to those.

been using these headphones for 2 weeks now, and their build quality is really REALLY low, the headband cushion just fell out, had to fix them back using super-glue. Currently waiting for reply from Monster's tech support. I think for the price its not worth paying for these headphones, the box is better built than the headphones themselves.

Definitely not the best sounding headphones for money, but one of the best looking headphones out there! I would still recommend Sennheiser HD 598, which came out recently and has appealing aesthetics IMO. HD 598s are better than Beats in terms of Sound Quality.

You can go into any best buy and listen to these... They are terrible for any music aside from techno, hip hop, and pop. The bass is overpowering to the point where you can't listen to rock music without wanting to claw your ears out. If you actually want good quality, try sennheiser or audio technica, or even sony. Bose headphones are way over priced, although I've had the earbuds for 4+ years and they're good... you could just do so much better with klipsche ones.

it isnt because of the "few bucks for batterys"... it is because they call themselve "studio headphones" and in a studio it SUCKS if you work a day on some projects and have to change them every few hours. They dont deserve to be called Studios! Apart from that compared with other studio headphones, the dr.Dre Suck balls.
