I agree with Rajanahmad, Dilip Kumar was a far better actor than Raj Kapoor. In this film (Andaz), Kapoor was almost amateurish next to Kumar. Kapoor would leave all the modern actors like SRK far behind.

An interesting movie (Andaz made in 1949) with ever lasting verses of Majrooh Sultanpuri and god-like voice of Mukesh. The movie was in condemnation of western culture that had started creeping in the psyche of desi logs. All efforts (including this movie) failed to stop westernization of the desi samaaj. And today we stand bereft of our culture our traditions our dignity; we have become  a laughing stock in the eye of the world. Kawwa hans ki chaal chala tu apni chaal bhi bhool gaya.

rajkapoor was not a actor but of course a good clown. he was famous only because of his father pirthvi raj who was ofcourse a great actor of his era. he was very jealous with dilip kumar. he could never superceded dilipkumar.

Raj Kapoor was extremely jealous of Dilip Kumar. Dilip was better person and still a better actor. The Kapoor Family become a formidble force against Dilip Kumar and were extremely effective controlled the media. Dilip survived on this talents and poor support from public. What a peitty... jealousy make Raj Kapoor small. I hope Kapoor's grand children are better education.

@65432106 Mukesh was the Best and well known not only in India but he was the only singer whose fame was well know outside India because Mukesh ji was the only singer Raj Kapoor preferred for most of his films.

Mukesh visited many foreign countries and was well known and was praised for his songs in Raj Kapoor films in countries such as Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Israel, Egypt and Turkey to name the few. His fan president Nasir of Egypt even. gave Mukesh ji an Award for his songs.

@htgajjar before I go further with this I would like to let you know that I do believe that Mukesh was a great singer and I have a large collection of his songs but to say he was the greatest singer NO. He might have been a well seasoned traveller and been given titles and awards by dignitaries etc but that is neither here or there. As for his association with Raj Kapoor apart from a very few memorable songs Mukesh sang for him I believe Mukesh sung some of his greatest songs in non RK .

It was after Andaaz that Raj Kapoor realized that he could not shine with Dilip Kumar in the same movie and Raj Kapoor was not one to come second to nobody.

It was common knowledge in the film industry that Raj Kapoor hired somebody to throw acid on Dilip Kumar which he narrowly escaped and character actor Yakoob then threatened Raj Kapoor to slit his face with a knife which deterred Raj to go further with his plans.

Raj Kapoor had more pull and say in the film industry than Dilip Kumar.

It is rather sad to see that humans never learn the lesson from this life. Raj Kapoor may be the elite of Indian Films but he was full of jealousy for those who were a bit more talented.

I hope that we all can learn to be courageous to accept that God given talent which is no match for any amount of scheme's to put down your fellow men.

I know that I am talking of ideal societies but again it can be done.

Andaz is a 1949 Indian movie. The film stars Dilip Kumar, Nargis and Raj Kapoor in a love triangle. Andaz is the only movie that stars Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor together. Singer is one of my best Mukesh. Great film I like it. Thanks for the great upload.
