  • for a 300-500 people party 2 k12 and 2 k subs with a behringer ddm4000 mixer and 2 pioneer cdj1000mk3 with mixtrack pro or vms4 controller and mac? is that good?

  • You guys talking about low freq. extension. Pro Audio subs in general are NOT made for deep extension. They are made for high output from 45-80hz and that's about it. The lowest box tuning freq. you'll typically see is around 38hz for a pro audio sub. This means below that frequency the speaker will be unloaded from the box and a great chance you will damage it with any real power. I suggest at least a 40hz 12db/octave high pass for pro audio subs unless specially designed for extension

  • can these do 1 to like 10 hz okay

  • If you are an idiot you can for sure go +10dB :PP

  • hey mike do you recommend the mackie srm1801 1000 watt?

  • @DJJORGEMOJICA have not heard anything good about the Mackie's yet, you have to determine, size, weight, and cost to determine what's best for you....

  • @mike71flores I have a mackie srm 450 and they suck. qsc for life.

  • @DJJORGEMOJICA I Had A Pair Of Mackie SA1521 (The Italian Made Ones) And They Sounded AWESOME But They Both Blew On Me. Try To Stay Away From Mackie Products. My Suggestion?. Try To Find A Used HPR151. 15 Inch Subs Have A Much Tighter, Cleaner, Punchier Bass.

  • @DJJORGEMOJICA hey man yea out local club has one of these and they actually sound great quite loud

  • SPECS:

    qscaudio.com/products/speakers/k_series/K_series_Ksub.php

  • how would you get this thing up and down stairs by yourself....i just bought one and im shitting my pants as to how im gonna get this beast up and down my 7 steps into my house....i mean i know it has wheels but thats not gonna wor for stairs

  • @DJChibbs 2 people to lift safely...

  • @mike71flores yeah but i work by myself in my business....you think a dolly would work?

  • these fuker actually shakes my neighbors bed. all my living room windows have cracks on them maybe they had hairlines and bb shot cracks but once you put this baby on those small cracks get really big quick. i don't like the shape of it hard to handle with one person and is abt 130 lbs, but i love it and in combo with the k series speakers is a combo hard to beat.

  • Bagofsucks22: car audio and pro audio are different worlds. you put that type r outside your car and it will have hardly any thump. This qsc 18 is 700w and is designed for indoor or outdoor. you basically need 2 times the watts for outdoor.

SRVjediknight: Getting to 25hz all has to do with tuning the port of the box. Bands dont need low hz, only to about 45hz or so. Which is why they sell it like this. Build custom box to 30hz or lower if needed. This sub is best for the money.

  • JBL srx 718 blow these out of the water and is the only speaker that will boom down to 25 hz ... I bet these only go to 40 or 35 topps !!!

  • Yes, I have 2 of the SRX718's running in bridge mono using an xti-4000, that's 1600watts per speaker....You happen to know the settings for the crossover in the xti-4000 to match up with the JBL SRX718's?

  • @mike71flores Settings for the Xti-4000 running a Srx718 are:

    Highpass@ 31.5Hz using Butterworth 18dB/Oct

    Lowpass@ 80Hz using LinkwizRiley (LR) 24dB/Oct

IMO You can run the lowpass with higher value as well (like 120Hz) to get the desired midbass punch if you top cabs lack the kick. The lowpass freq is more like a tweak and give it a listen type of a thing. Adjust the freq where you like the sound the most. But don't tweak the highpass. It's protecting your drivers when they are pushed hard.

  • @SRVjediknight JBL srx 718 is a great sub, but doesn't go down to 25hz. 25hz is around the -25dB point which isn't that usable. Only PA subs with real world 25hz performance I can recall are Danley TH-221 (22Hz) and the McCauley M421 (20Hz).. Too bad that both of these cabs are over 400 pounds a piece, so definitely not a sub that a mobile DJ might want to use =D

  • @SRVjediknight Alpine type r 15s go down to 20 Hz

  • @SRVjediknight i know this was wrote 1 year ago, but people still read this. i had the jbl's 718 and i got now the 181 qsc sub. and NO, the jbl's don't blow nothing out nowere. SORRY! don't put jbl and qsc in the same sentence please. i'm not saying jbls are junk. by no means, and is true jbls do sound good untill you put a qsc 181 next to them. again people favor what they like so this is my opinion.

  • bro play them thats all we want to c

  • 120 lbs amp built in not bad.. an amp to power a pair of those would weight about 30lbs..

    yeah i hate those casters

    Cmom so loud... LOL...

  • hey buddy, nice video...i got a question. Can i hook up this powered sub with two other powered 15 inch QSCs on a regular dj mixer or do i need a mixer such as a mackie dfx of some sort? thanks for your help!

  • just run your left and right channels to the back of the subwoofer, then take 2 more cables and run to your 15's, left and right. If you notice on the back of the subwoofer you will see 6 different ports 2 are for input from the mixer , other 2 are for ouput to your 15's.

  • Oh ok, so basically im just linking the speakers together?! Awesome! Thanks!

  • LOL @ the kids.

  • :-D

  • this sub is great, got mines 2 years ago im still paying for this baby, but i would not dj with out my main and only sub, really pro shit here. i had play this thing inside my apartment and my neigbor had told me that her coffe table walks across the floor. is like a roaring thunder. i can't imagine how 2 of these things sound...wow

  • dude plug them in and souund test!

  • Lets just at halfway mark it shakes the walls in the house.

  • i have two QSC HPR153i 15" 3-Way Powered Loudspeakers and a B52 18 inch Active X powered subwoofer and that combo has been so great to me djing in clubs and parties...so fucking loud

  • hey mike,

i am running two 152i's. if i could just afford to buy one of these 181's for right now, how would i hook it up? i am coming out of a rane empath that only has one left and one right xlr out. i currently run one of the 152s on left, and one on right.

    thanks for your help.

  • Oh, its real easy to do. Just plug your left and right XLR out channels into the back of the SUBWOOFER. Then run cables from the subwoofer to your left and right channels. This means you will need 4 cables

  • wfv

  • Kyle, I think I know what you are trying to say..but If I have one AMP and 2 speakers and the amp dies...that means 2 speakers gone...With powered speakers and powered sub I have 3 points of failure....if my sub dies my HPR153I's are still strong enough to kick some bass...thanks for your comment though...not to mention they come with a 6 year WARRANTY

  • sweet...do a video so we can see how good it sounds.

  • Watch the video QSC "Knock Your Socks Off"

    by venusmoon1234

  • Oh yea, very nice video...its located on the qsc webpage..they have some really great videos!!

  • I knew QSC was made tuff but you sure have proved it beyond a doubt.

  • Yes, could not resist with the kids outside watching...!!

  • im hoping to get one of these very soon, qsc is very respected by the dj community. quality is no#1. my soon to be ex-neighbor is going to help me carry it to my apartment..

  • Nice!

Very similar to the RCF 4Pro 8001-AS.

  • Thanks, I'm very happy with the product !!

  • how many people have you used this for before?

  • I use it with 2 QSC HPR153i's it will handle a band gig or a room with 400 to 500 people.

  • Is that using the one sub or do you use two?

  • I use one sub in the middle......I have had lots of people tell me how great the sound is...very clear...channels are seperated by built in crossovers..

  • have you ever compared it to the yorkville ls800?

  • Nope...You have one?

  • Holly shit. That thing weighs more than me!

  • Yea, the wheels make this thing easy to roll , it glides really smooth over bumps and the heavy grill makes it actually easy to carry stuff on it...I know that sounds crazy ...but very nice...

  • Ahh yes great subs. Heavy yes but very very well constructed. I have never had a problem with the casters vibrating and I pound the lows fairly well. That is the older model you got, the newer ones the gain goes from -30 to 0 db. Otherwise they have the same components. I'm sure you will enjoy it as they are a great sub.

  • Cool..!!

  • sweet intro/outro.. you should brian and J up with some of those

  • Thanks!!

  • I bought the demo unit for $750 from Guitar Center. It retails at about $1200 ..$100 to ship...I picked mine up locally so had to pay sales tax. Did not plan on buying when I went in the store but took good of deal to pass up.

  • wow thats a heavy unit! whats the price tag on it?
