  • this movie is a classic.......wasnt  that brenda on the back of the bus in the beginning of the movie...........i believe some of the cast of cooley high is in the movie called monkey hustle.....

  • I saw this movie back in high school. I've always considered this to be the Black version of American Graffiti. A really great movie. I still like it today. This movie was filmed in Chicago.

  • My dad told me that he loves this movie because his high schol experience was EXACTLY like this! He was in high school from 1966-1969 at Frederick Douglass High in Baltimore MD!

  • This movie brings back a lot of memories for me. And it is really funny to see my old home town like this with the old Els and of course Sets. Do you guys know what Sets are? hahaha not gang sets (sets) people still have them in Chicago even to this day.

  • Cooley High is one of he best movies of all time. We had it on VHS and now I have in on DVD.

  • respect......none of my black friends have ever heard of this movie, i'm a white canadian and i've seen it......maybe cuz my friends are jamaican-canadian not african-american, but this is a classic!

  • Thank you for your comment. This film depicts chicago in the 1960's. At the time of the making of this film (the 1970's) West indian blacks were just coming to the states in huge numbers. If your friends have not seen it then please share it with them. Peace!!

  • man i luv this movie!!!!!!!!!!! i remember asking my mom, "can i got o cooly high when i get to high school?" and she asked where that was i told her chicago and she definately said no lol. not because she doesnt like chicago but because we live all the way up in lansing michigan baby!!!!! great movie though! its so much more than a movie!

  • Her name is Dorothy. I loved her, she was so funny. This is one of the best coming of age movies period though, I love it.
