  • Where's the love button?

  • One of the best Christmas shows ever!

  • moral of the story: even though they wanted to give away their most valuable possesions for the friend they truly love, the special gifts were delivered to them; the true gift of Christmas is not what they got but what love they have for eachother. awwww so cute!

  • @aceattorney1989 hope you have a blessed christmas <3

  • @tonigurl1998 Thank you and u 2 :)

  • A great Christmas moment....words to live by.....Merrrrrrrry Christmas Youtube Folks....

  • Kermit and Miss Piggy sang this same song in Muppet Family Christmas and their performers were Jim Henson and Frank Oz who also performed Ernie and Bert.

  • I love ernie & bert <3 They're so cute !! :´3

  • I feel that Ernie's Rubber Ducky should be in the Smithsonian.

  • I've never seen this! It almost made me cry... *sigh* good 'ol Jim Henson days.

  • I remember seeing this on the Sesame Street DVD A Sesame Street Christmas Carol, but the DVD got lost.

  • I'd like to be cynical and say that there's no way there's anyone so generous as Bert, Ernie, and Mr. Hooper in this war-torn, greedy world, but now that I think about it, I know that's not true. Most of the folks I know and care for are wonderful, gentle, peace-loving people who would gladly give their most cherished possessions to help each other.

The greedy, murderous sociopaths are just the ones in charge of everything.

  • Don't worry about getting Mr. Hooper anything for Christmas. He is Jewish. get him something for Hannukah.

  • Bert and Ernie AND Mr Hooper?

  • why does Bert remind me of Squidward? I love this, i love Bert and Ernie, and escpecially their selflessness :)

  • this helped me on a paper

  • what is funny was berts laugh LOL his laugh so so funny

  • this is so sweet..

  • Kids get a kick out of hearing sesame street characters sing Christmas Carols!

  • Mr. Looper had a kind heart.

  • @shydmples That's Hooper.

  • @grapebuy789 LOL....Alright alright..so sue me...lol...Hooper....Hooper already! lol

  • @shydmples Big Bird wouldn't say that.

  • @grapebuy789 LOL....That was a good one, grapebug678! lol

  • Very nice...after all these years, it still gives me goosebumps & I'm 40...lol....they sung that song with so much feeling.....I miss the 70s...lol

  • The most beautiful clip ever! I remember watching this as a little girl. It made my Christmas very special. It is very cool to see the Sesame Street characters share the meaning of the holiday spirit. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • @dearpsychonaut

That issue has been debated since the dawn of "Sesame Street" history! The creators of the show insists that it is not implied, but there is really no way to prove or disprove it.

  • I love you Mr. Hooper! RIP

  • @maeveangel Well, its clips like these that keep him immortal.

  • Cigar box.

  • RIP Mr Hooper

  • GREAT! I always wanted to find a X-Mas scene with E And B.

  • I'm crying just for writing it! These two make me cry more than smile, sometimes!

They taught me to value that must be really important to me.

  • But I remember those parts! It was the best! Bert and Ernie are my favorite characters! And I cried when Bert was changing the paperclips, it made me very sad and angry because he kept looking for the clips! Did not seem worth it! I think I would not dare do something like that, Bert and Ernie showed that let the things they love most to see the other happy. Ernie treats Rubber Duckie like a friend, but he proved that the leave for Bert and ..

  • @FrancileneFonseca

I agree with you! They made the ultimate sacrifice for each other's sake! A good lesson in what true friendship is all about!

  • And I've loved watching Christmas on Sesame Street! That part of the beginning, their ice-skating was great too!

  • "Then they'll never get lost again!" & he throws the paperclip away, probably getting it lost. Classic stuff!

  • Best parts of this special.

  • Thank you for posting that! I am so excited to have been able to share it with my seven year old daughter--I remembered it from when I was seven! Merry Christmas.

  • Brings back memories

  • Mr. Hooper was a genius. He knew these guys were willing to part with the things they truly adored simply to get a special present for their friend. Beautiful.

  • @glowworm2 Besides, what good is a cigar box for Bert without his Paperclip collection, and what good is a soapdish for Ernie (dispite that he can put a bar of soap on it) without his rubber duckie?

  • @glowworm2 mistuh hoopah got wacked by the sesame street crew and his boarded up candy store is a public nuisance and eyesore just like jim henson was

  • Merry Christmas, Marshal. Great clip to celebrate.

  • The SS youtube site has this but for whatever reason the singing part was cut off.

Thanks for unloading the whole skit.

  • @MIKECNW That's because it came directly from the "Sesame Street Christmas Carol" DVD.

  • @Garrettk41 Still doesn't explain why singing wasn't included.

  • @MIKECNW Well, the song wasn't included on the DVD, and that's where the website got it from.

  • Very sweet and makes me cry to watch this. Very special show indeed.

  • Jim got to sing this song as three of his major characters: as Ernie (w/Bert), as Kermit (w/Miss Piggy and the rest of the Muppets), and as Rowlf (w/John Denver).

  • And HOW did Will Lee manage to stand there.

  • Bob McGrath says this is one of his two favorite Sesame Street moments, and who can blame him? A wonderful clip to post on this special day. Merry Christmas to all!

  • @Garrettk41 I was so happy a few years ago when I was in CVS and found this dvd. Remember seeing this on tv a few years after Mr Hooper died

  • @MegaNFer81 Yeah. And that is Bob's other favorite Sesame Street moment.

  • Merry Christmas everyone! And...Happy Holidays to those who celebrate this time of year differently.
