Dude's rookie year in 96-97 was so sick...after that....mediocre at best. He needed to be in a spread em out open the floor, fast break style team like the Suns or the Warriors.
is it just me or does everyone good that leaves the raptors end up no where..like T-mac, AMAZING!! now what, Vince Carter, GREATEST! now :S., billups doesnt count cuz he came from boston, who else.. yeah!
@ChristTrip Bayless isnt even near his prime. Stoudamires prime was his first 3 years in Toronto. After when he went to portland his numbers dropped, and they benched him most of the time.
@Wyndyll He was born in, and grew up in Portland, you expect him not to sign with his hometown team, on a squad that dominated and fell just short of a championship?
He was damn good even though he smoked weed as well.
@chriswins1981 he was a big disappointment solely bcuz he won rookie of the year and produced mediocre numbers. Speaking out of that context, his a solid role player though and he stands only 5'10, one of the shortest guys in the nba ever.
i used to be the biggest mightymouse fan back in 96, 97, and 98. i never could imagine that his career would turn out to be the shithole that it is today, and his past couple of seasons. watching his old raptors games, and comparing them games with his portland, and grizzlies years really pisses me the fuck off. dude was supposed to be the point guard of the future.
Even MJ praised Stoudamire as one of the quickest in the league, putting him alongside Iverson (who was probably the quickest guard of all time)

he never even made an all star game.

Player great. I remember him well when he came in the Raptors. Damn! How good he was!
Those were good days in the NBA. The guys came prepared by the University, with a different mentality.

why did he turn out this way???

Stoudamire could have been much better if he had stayed away from the drugs and didn't become a Portland Trailgangster.

Well DS was great with Toronto but no clue what happened to him later. Unfortunately he turned out to be very very big disappointment.
