i've already flying from indonesia to arab in indonesia by using ETIHAD A330-202 the turbulence is the worst when the weather was not friendly and i call the turbulence my friend hahaha funny
Coming into Manchester Airport (EGCC) in a Thomson (First Choice) 757-200, we dropped about 10 feet due to turbulence, and this was just before we started descending and the seatbelt sign was still off. Someone fell over, and then it happened again as we came through the clouds. Scared everyone and woke everyone up a bit! I love flying, and it made me grip the arm rests! hehe
Flight 447 could of been due to the Pitot tubes, which provide speed and altitude related information.
Whilst they were flying through the severe thunderstorm, it's possible that the pitot tubes iced over and gave false readings, prompting the Pilots to either reduce or increase the aircraft's speed, but because the Pitot tubes were most likely to have iced over, incorrect speed indications could have been given
As a result, an in-flight break-up occured due to loss of control
I was on a United flight from Japan when we crossed over Teipei during some very bad weather. The turbulance was severe at times. Many passengers were screaming and panicing. The plane was dropping and rising like mad. I turned into the flight deck (United Airlines only) and the captain was über calm. In talking to ATC, he didn't seem worried at all, so I figured it was not a big deal. Scary ride though.
zOMG..Your soo right XD Man I went to India on Lafthansa Boeing 747, and we had some pretty bad turbulence and there was a sudden down fall. I was like holy shit!!! And tightened the muscles in my butt XD Lmfao!!
On my way from Maui to Dallas we hit like 14 of those over Cali-Colorado and it is scary stuff. I though we were falling from the sky. All the pilot said is, "We are gonna be heading through some moderate/severe turbulence, please take your seats. We will be fine."
Bing (This is the Captain of Japan Airlines were going to exprience some turbulence please be calm and have a great flight and thank you for chossing JAL

It didnt just fall apart and the crash may not have been caused by the turbulence. So before commenting get your facts right

what kind of aircraft when u was on united flight from japan?
crown4458 2 years ago
I was in a Boeing 747. Above 35,000 ft. The flight was in October, which tends to be the rainy/monsoon season.

are u a pilot or flight attendant?

Don't worry about turbulence!
Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, etc...
designed their aircraft to go through much more stronger turbulence than what we see 99.9% of the time when we fly.
It's very unlikely for such a large aircraft to crash, when there's turbulence, they only drop a few feet, not thousands & thousands.
So, no, the wings's aren't going to be ripped off and the fuselage wont snap!

Yeah and try it in a Piper.... While you have control....Great fun

JAL is my favorite airline. As long as I fly JAL, I am not worried about turbulence. I am confident with JAL pilots.

All pilots get the same training. And JAL have had the worst crash in aviation history. 536 people died.
