hey whats up?? just want to know if i could produce great quality music with just a mbox micro and my pro tools 8, and also my microphone and sterio moniters. i have instrumentals alot, want to know if i could record good quality with just these equipments?? plz help as soon as possible.
@joelrockstar19 In simple terms you can control the extent to which your singals are wet and also by using aux sends the cpu load gets lowered as many tracks share the same effect like in the case of a reverb.
Why does the delay sound like each subsequent 'bounce' is ascending? Is it looping back into itself? This usually only happens with a shifter placed post-delay, right?...
im using protools LE and i need just need some advice fixing some peaking levels on the drums i recorded. i tracked a full albums worth of drums very quickly and the drums are peaking way too often, first major project using protools and would appreciate advice, thanks
Are the tracks peaking as they are, or have they been adusted for volume/dynamics? Maybe your sum/stereo mix is peaking? Give us some more info on your mix. Thanks
You shouldn't have recorded the drum mics with the preamps as high so you wouldn't have had such a hot signal and peaked them out in the first place. Best advice I can give you now is hit the drum track(s) that are peaking with a Compressor, with a FAST attack speed and a Ratio of at least 3:1, or 4:1. Set the Threshold so you start hearing and seeing the signal in PT fall back from the infamous red dot and peak meter. OR use a Limiter plug-in :) that works too.
As 'SMITHCOK' stated... how would you get an effects send for a certian region of a track..?. e.g. add reverb to a guutar track at a certain time period. bit confused
Why would you need to record the effected tracks? In the video, I show you how to use both of these effects simultaneously.
If you did have a specific reason to record these effects, you would have to route the output of the aux tracks into a new audio track and record through
Why does software required aux tracks for adding effects, why not just open up the mix window, select the track and add effect wich would be directly being apply to that track. This way it'll be esier and fster to mix a song. For example with my yamaha aw 1600 i just need to select a track then open up the effects window and turn the knob to add effect on the track, i can selcet either stereo or mono track and adjust it or edit. It's way esier this way.
this way you can apply the same effect to multiple tracks using the aux send rather than having several instances of the same rtas plugin running on each track...it saves valuable cpu power at mixdown
Thank you!

A couple of ways.
1) automate the send level for that track
2) Copy the section that you want effects to another track and set the send level.

Many effects are in stereo (delay, convo verb). You could use the same channel, but then you couldn't mix their volumes independently.
