Watching these videos, I have to say that the crashes in american derbies are pretty lame in comparison to the smash ups in UK banger racing.

But one thing's for sure, these V8s sound 4000 times better than the heaps of shit we have to call cars..

It was obviously a POS. Who cares? There was probably no floor what so ever and was sitting on channel iron he had to bolt in. I personally love racing cars like this. You know why? For the reactions you guys have right now. It's priceless. I'm currently racing a 64 T-Bird and my uncle is bringing out a 57 Bel Air this summer

that's a 53 Buick Special two door hardtop not a 58. if it was a 58 Buick 4 door post, with a different steering wheel (instead of the chrome murder weapon installed at the factory) , it may have killed some of those cars on the track.

hell i could care less....if i got one of those old buicks for cheap i would run it in a derby...do you know how much time/effort/money it would take to restor one of those cars....plus their built strong so they should do pretty decent....however there is a guy down the street im trying to buy a early 70s plymouth furry 3 (i think) from its already pretty beat up...amazing derby potential!!!

up here in ontario no engine cages most cars are welded and plated but the six cylenders under 114 inch wheel base run with the four cylenders i think its a lot more fair they dont stand a chance against us big cars
