i work on cumberland island sometimes and i'm so glad a few people are trying to bring awareness to the history of people of color here. i love this place but to truly enjoy it we need to grapple with the ugly. general sherman was going to allocate all or most of the island to the freed slaves but then stafford, the former slaveowner, came back and claimed it all except a tiny piece for the geechee people. and now they're gone - why?

If you ever in DC area i would love to see you live here. Im an artist like yourself, but the music died for me in the early 2000s....
