pretty hard to pin point what your opponent did wrong besides rushing his archers to skirmish with your cavalry instead of your archers. it's just that your unorthodox cavalry setup completely negated his advantage with superior numbers and quality too(the general's bodyguards). in the end the quality of the phalanx doesn't really matter, it's the cavalry that does the real damage, so your phalanx pikemen had no problems with his royal pikemen thanks to your cavalry being there to support.

Get the sense you picked a costly solution for your PC problem, but at least its on the way.This video however sucked,it was painful to watch. I would stick to the web cam until the new one arrives. Maybe visuals are not that important to some,but I will admit it counts a bit for me.

I can understand the timing though.The Shogun 2 demo was great.

Only thing that bugged me a little was that they have changed walk default to run. So enemies seem a little unrealistic fast running everywhere in SP.

Yeah, I bet allot of people do, but its not like allot of people havent asked about when you would get a new computer which would indicate looks counts a bit as well. If it was just for the battles people could most probably create a doctrine about your tactics in Rome based on your videos created so far. There are also a bunch of videos where you "excuse" the quality because of your PC problems.

Good visuals dont hurt a visual media like a Youtube channel, I think.

Combat is a little short,but its closer to say Rome than Medieval 2,which I think had more realistic vanilla combat. Still,I kinda enjoy Rome a bit more since I mostly play single player and long battles becomes a little boring.So I know where you are coming from, but I would think, similar to Rome, Emp, Nap etc, a fan mode will fix that and add longer battles.I still enjoyed the ground work though.Look closer,you can even see injured enemies lying on the ground in pain before they die.

what are the thracians good for countering?

@japanimekid they can go fight Egypt, Britons, Pontus, and the other barbarian factions at 15k. But any other faction will eat the Thracians alive at 15k.

Thrace is pretty good at 10k though since their units are so cheap and effective.

prince here is a tip to make game less lagy. when playing RTW press ctrl+alt+delete and go to task manager and then go to processes and on the list find RTW and right click on it and set priority to high. this will make it less lagy.
