I'm English it is clear over history Germany is the better team. England for whatever reasons are the biggest underachievers in football almost every cup we go in thinking we could win and always get knocked out in the quarter final or even before that. While Germany if they do get knocked out are knocked out in the semi final or the final itself. However i still believe it is the greatest rivalry in international football classics like 66 , 70, 90, 96, 01 and 2010

I disagree. England and Germany have allways been evenly matched teams, with one or the other side usually gaining the upper hand for a couple of months or so. In '96, for example, we only won because we were (very) lucky, and don't forget our 1:5 defeat.

Germany: Won the world cup 3 times (54, 74, 90), won the Euro Cup 3 times (72, 80, 96).

What's more is that the only FINAL England has ever been in was when they won the WC in 66.

Germany, on the other hand has been in 7 WC finals and 6 Euro Cup finals.

This definitely shows that Germany have been the better team historically, and consistently for that matter.
