  • NASA's problems are the same as the Federal Governments. They rely on a drug addict for a plan to stop drugs. Just like NASA will only consider a rocket system from the same same contractors that FAILED us with Shuttle. It does not matter what the vehicle is, if they same contractors make it, NASA wants it. First Constellation, then Liberty, and now STS. They keep re-branding the same parts in different configurations until we finally buy it.

  • @ti994apc If you truly feel that way: call, write, e-mail or tell your Congressperson.

  • holy crap

  • Hopefully they don't have the bureaucracy problems similar to NASA which ended up killing people... when management decided it knew more about the rockets than the engineers.

  • @Kargoneth Point well taken: It's worth remembering that engineers at this same company (then called Thiokol) begged NASA not to launch Challenger because they knew the field joints in solid rocket motor segments to be suspect in very cold conditions. Space travel will always be dangerous. But the one strong attribute of a truly commercial space program is that private companies – not taxpayers – assume the risks, both financial and human.

  • @Kargoneth bureaucracy did not kill anyone. It was bad design from the start. One the reasons Werner Von Braun left NASA was because he said people should never be launched with a solid rocket engine system. He was right. For one Solid rocket fuel cannot be turned off once started. To eject from an SRB explosion is almost impossible because it created flaming chucks of debris for miles and parachute systems would be eaten alive.

  • My soul purpose in life now is to make enough money to pay to go to space. If I can make it to the moon in my lifetime, my life will be a success.

  • @m1ndbender3 We'll meet you there. Best wishes!

  • Great now lets do it :)
