The trouble with Vincent Nichols is he cannot be taken seriously? Wasn't he the one who jumped up to agree with the Pope's view that the use of contraceptives exascerbates the spread of aids? Another bovine bishop!

@sebreathnach obviously contraceptives have not stopped the spread of aids fact.explain that.it will always be about personal responsibility in the end .the church gives an alternate idea of sexuality ,which doesn't match what society says about sexuality.the church holds up the ideal way of sexuality.you choose to accept or reject it that simple.if the church lowered the ideal to make it easier for people then to me it's not the church.

@irishmofo22 Of course , one can say that of everything, including the acquistion of a living wage. But these absract and absolute simplicities are a false as can be. Even the Pope has been 'persuaded' to change his first spiel. One wonders whether Nichols, who has agreed in such unison with his leader, has come to change his mind also about the said contraceptives? What do you think yourself?

@irishmofo22 You should really listen to yourself: 'The church holds up the ideal way of sexuality...' My arse! Hypocrities. .. The annals of history are replete with sexual misconduct among the lazy clergy. Read Wycliff, Boaccaio, Valla, Chaucer, etc. etc.. And that's not even to mention the word paedophelia... By the way, now that the Pope has changed his mind, have all the allsorans changed their simultaneiously??
