  • Ecellent control by the Master. Experience really shows.

  • they are both fighting like bitches! Fuckin´ waste of time

  • lol i cant tell if the guy in the shorts is a bad fighter of if he really waiting that long to fight back so his opponent would be tired... and if that's the case then what was the point of the fighting? the black belt should have ran a mile then fought the guy o_0 it would have been the same effect

  • This is Muay Thai

  • Thank you for uploading this, very interesting. If you always watch pro vs. pro you think, how would I do in this fight, so this kind of gives you sense, how a pro fighter will do against yourself.

  • fuck that black belt damn if he didn't have that helmet.

  • that black belt had his guards down for about 90% of the time :S

  • Oh ok his name is mantis?Cause he doin muy thai

  • dont know how they do it but im no black belt and the peeps i train with dont just dance

  • lol the only thing i would say is that if there was a real guy with mantis there, he will wipe all these idiots in no time

  • @AntiNubDevice I'm not hating. Didn't you see the smiley face? It's just that I've sparred with many blackbelts who didn't seem to deserve the ranking. The blackbelts in my school were all killers with blinding speed so I expect a blackbelt to be a "high degree martial artist". This is why "blackbelt" means next to nothing these days. No venom here. I just hope that he is able to defend himself and his loved ones when the time comes. That is what is most important.

  • @mansioneer Actually, the meaning for having/earning a "blackbelt" has been miss interpreted by ALOT of people. i would go as far as to say that maybe one or two of you can correctly guess (i'm NOT insulting!). The true meaning for black belt is that "you are now ready to learn". Think about it, every form or technique you learn from beginning to BB is a tool that you need to learn and master before you are able to teach or learn the more adv. excercises. The journey to BB is only the beginning.

  • @mansioneer A blackbelt does not rank you as a high martial artist. A black belt is no differen't then your first. It represents a new beginning in your training. A crisp understanding of the basics / stamina. Self training, the art of teachings one's self. many black belts lack fundamentals but knowledge is where most strive in. A shitty fighter can still make one of the best teachers.

  • The guy going for his belt moves like a robot, he seems uncomfortable with his skill against another.

  • the guy with black shirt sucked!

  • That Mantis , is a trained fighter, specifically for fighting, the blackbelt is a hobby martial artist, a bit of an unfair fight.

MMA fighters are usually designed just for fighting and fitness alone.

  • that was like watching paint dry ! infer-dales palming them selfs as fighters especially kung fu i would visit ur school ne day and show u real gung fu this is slap boxing!

  • @shakillify He's testing for a belt, and he's sparring against a pro. He's not training to be pro, or even helping the pro with his training. This is purely for learning and experience. You seriously expect a random guy to compete against a pro fighter? Silly street kid. Go visit a school of a true fighting art like Malay Silat, Pradal Serey, or Krav Maga and say that. See what happens when you insult them by calling their shit slapboxing.

  • Wow. I wasn't aware there was a martial arts called black belt.

  • this is what my Sifu calls a slap fight. and the squeeky shoes are a constant annoyance. the guy in the headgear is far too cocky. i see little mantis, and lots of poorly aimed, wild swinging. keep training guys...

  • Good Fight, the karateka did his best

  • Please tell me he didn't get his belt :) Btw CKFAMPVagisha. How can a praying mantis white belt not recognize this guy as a muay thai fighter. Embarassing.

  • @mansioneer Don't hate. How intimidated would you be stepping in, even just sparring like this, against a K1 pro? He's obviously hesitant, not to mention nervous as hell. Also, he's a guy testing for a black belt, not a fucking high degree martial artist like you obviously expect him to be. He's got decent speed and technique.

  • @mansioneer

I hope not, this guy sucks at fighting and he gets winded easily. You can hear him gasping for air. He must attend a McDojo, because there is no other way this guy is even remotely close to being a black belt/sash.

  • 3:24 that dummy spin could have lost the black belt the fight haha

  • That was a Mantis without using the hooks because of the gloves. Very smooth.

  • Black belt never had a chance. He went very easy on him at the start.

  • The mantis had a good framework, but did not attack with hands, probably from northern branch. He should have barged the guy and finish him off with a gauchoy. It is a shame on the mantis to drag it for so long. The other guy had good legs, bad framework and defense with widely open hands inviting an attack, not protecting his head at all. As a white belt mantis, I could finish the guy in two minuts. This fight was not professional at all. It is sad to see such a bad performance.

  • @CKFAMPVagisha That fighter wasn't a southern (or northern) praying mantis fighter. He was a muay thai fighter. Mantis appears to just be his fight name. The point of this was not "style 'a' vs. style 'b'" nor was it to see who would "win." It was to test and give the black belt experience.

A lot of theoretical and speculative things could be said about fights and fighters (IMO especially amongst beginners and the arrogant), but that's often oversimplified and ignores context

  • The Maui Thai guy was FAR superior, his kicks are outstanding, his boxing, however has holes.

  • it doesnt take power to knock out a mouth piece

  • gay as fuck and that fat chinese ryu with his arms folded is also a dick.

  • The pro showed real restraint. It was obvious he could have slaughtered that guy anytime he wanted to do it! It is tough to fight against a guy that you know can put you out anytime he wishes. That is very intimidating!

  • I was taking martial arts for a while and I hated sparring. The reason is, you really cant let go and kill the guy. Its sparring. and that what it turns out to be. Its just a portion of what a real fight would be like. You can learn from it, but, mostly you learn to hold back. JMO

  • @MrDrunion in a streetfight, most of the time you must 'hold back' what you are doing, or you'll find yourself in big trouble if you hurt someone too much... let go and kill the guy is not martial art spirit... until youre in life death situation

  • @MrDrunion I know what you mean. When sparring, you are more concerned with not hurting the other guy...In a real fight, your only thought is "must kill opponent...rip throat out...remove testicles!"

I'm not sure if sparring can be considered training for a real confrontation. But it has some value, for sure.

  • this took too long.. the guy inthe shorts must have came in for a guest appearance because the others probably fight like his weak azz (the black belt).

  • what mantis?

  • god, that was almost unbearable.

  • looks like muy thai vs karate

  • shit! there is a baby in the room...wtf

  • F U TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe "Mantis" is the name of the kickboxer, the blackbelt mentioned seems to be the guy in the full black gi, wearing the black belt and the helmet. Looks like a get-up that would be hot to try and fight in. I don't think either of these guys really did much better (or worse) than the other. Gloves make a big difference. Did the kickboxer go light? The blackbelt seemed too timid.

  • @tgreer0120 - The blackbelt got schooled. Mantis let the guy play a little for the first two rounds. In the last round Mantis decided to add a little pressure, maybe 30% power. This was a friendly sparring match so there was no sense in beating the black belt senseless.

If the black belt wanted war, then he better have been ready to fight like a pro and take hits like one. Mantis didn't even break a sweat.

A real K-1 fight would have looked like this:

    /watch?v=IvlFoQTse8s

  • @iApna, it's extremely debatable what a black belt is, or means. Plenty of people get black belts that aren't very good. It means nothing. Regardless of what someone has for ranking, some are better fighters than others. As far as I can see, the guy was just wearing a black belt... what is that supposed to mean? Nothing. Sounds like the kickboxer was just more experienced or a better fighter. They both weren't showing any real skills, not that fighting is easy.

  • @tgreer0120 - Mantis showed some excellent skills.

    - He wasn't breathing heavy and completely in control

    - He wasn't threatened by his opponents antics

    - He was stocking his opponent in the 3rd,

    - faking and feinting

    - Excellent control in power, speed and distance

    - He dominated his opponent with simple mind games and basic striking techniques

    - He expertly taunted and dared his opponent to make a move seen at 5:08. The result was, the black belt was completely confused on what to do.

  • @iApna, if you're a fan, so be it, but I'm not bothered if you don't agree with me about the skills. Everyone has their own view, based on what they know and they're experience, or if they're biased as a fan (perhaps). Perhaps not, but nothing of much skill was shown in this video. I disagree about how much more expertise this man showed over the other guy, even if the other guy lost. Debatable if the oppnoent was much of a black belt, whatever that's supposed to mean anyway?

  • @tgreer0120 - Continued -

    - Mantis showed zero fear

    - He kept his opponent on the defensive for most of the 3rd round. As a result he exhausted the black belt. This is just a sign of fear from the black belt.

I can go on. But point is Mantis showed his fight experience the black belt didn't show any of it. You can't learn anything I mentinoed or understand unless you actually fight and trained by an instructor who has real fight experience. You're right though black belt means nothing.

  • @iApna, you seem to create a lot of scenarios about this "Mantis" fellow. Anyway, should we slap on a black colored belt on any random person and have them spar with someone and then go on about how someone beta a black belt, and then go on about how thy dominated the opponent? I didn't see much domination/better skills. I'm not saying he couldn't have, I'm saying he didn't. Yeah, he was calm about it, not saying the guy sucks, just saying this video didn't show anything either way.

  • @iApna, I'll also continue; I fight/spar and train all of the time, and I have my own personal views and experiences to determine what I personally feel. So, it's not for a lack of understanding, or lack of insight. Any fight between two people can go different in a lot of ways, this was the result of this one, on video. I know nothing of the fighters other than what I saw here, in a short video of a very light, non serious spar. That's cool, I just don't see much skill from either.

  • oh, i was expecting mantis fighting style

  • Squeek move squeek move squeek goes to move but then bang low roundhouse and boom round house to the face haha

  • Black belt???

  • Why is mantis in the title????

  • hahahaha and that is a black belt.... duuuuude I could beat his ass easily!!!

  • oh shit i think ive actually heard of this mantis guy. he was supposed to fight at the world stand off, thailand versus usa, the first one. he had to have been taking it easy on this guy. he's clearly a muay thai guy. surprised he didnt low kick the shit out of him.

  • 3:00 - 3:05 double roundhouse kicks both hitting each side of head, epic.

  • @FrosTyyBeaT they're not roundhouse?

  • Pathetic. This is what capitalisim, as wonderful as it is, doesn't mix with martial arts. Notice the 3 or so stripes on the Ta Kwon Do's belt. The fact that a "fighter" with that little skill, has "earned" anywhere close to black, not to mention, 2nd or third Dan, Proves that at his school you will keep getting promoted so long as you keep paying tuition.

  • @tphroc Agreed. People will keep paying because they feel like they've won some sort of trophy to mark progression that never happened. Needing the money, the sensei lets it go on. Can't really call them much of a sensei at that point, though. Just another person out there trying to raise the almighty dollar that controls our lives from conception 'til after we die.

  • no skill no power, both of em suck.

  • kinda tight for a fight huh

  • jaja y eso que estuvo muy frenado el de short thai

  • man this match is boring

  • Uuh Mantis is a K1 level Pro? Negative... I worked K1 from 2003 to 2008..... Never even saw him at the tryouts that were open to any person who wanted to compete.

  • to much posing and feinting. the kickboxer sucked for letting dude get off on him like that

  • Saying "Mantis vs. Black Belt" is like saying "Boxer vs. National Pro".

  • who are all these people who swear they can ID a black belt or take one on, be my guest. I guess people think of a black belt as a kind of exhibitionists or think of martial arts as the kind of CONTROLLED things you see on TV. Most of the time the really deadly ones don't have pretty, flashy, showy skills.

  • this blackbelt would get his ass knocked 3 ways to sunday at my school. what a shame.

  • 202 people broke their weiners.

  • I'm pretty sure I could beat the crap outta either one of these pussies.

  • Best hook i've seen out of this whole fight was when the black belt slapped the guy in the butt on the end of round 2 lmfao..

  • Ok... now this should prove one thing. This was 3 rounds. You do not waste ALL your stamina in 3 rounds. Even in amatour. Because if it exist 45 sec left when you are out of breath you will be knocked down!

    Never become an ELK!

  • "You've demonstrated 3 techniques. Here's your black belt."

  • black belt my ass

  • uhmm.. jab???

  • the black guy's striking was slow and non-fluid. Maybe he's "technically" sound but not very explosive.

  • the black guy sucks

  • lmao the mouth piece @ 6:04

  • Lame!

  • needs more cowbell

  • please read the description; "Mantis" (a k-1 pro) vs a guy testing for his black belt. Obviously Mantis is a Muy thai fighter. The black guy looks like a Lima Lama/kenpo/Polynesian arts type fighter. Mantis starts off being very conservative and playing it safe. The black guy gets tired at the end and Mantis capitalizes on it. Both guys are VERY good but the black guy was probably winded after testing probably for a couple hours directly before the fight.

  • The room is so tight.... anyway, pretty gay.

  • these guys are both actually very good !! they're just a little ineffective with each other because the styles are so different and because they both respect the other guys ability

  • What martial art is the Guy testing doing?

  • Some needs to get the squeaky toys out of his shoes lol

  • noobs

  • MUAY THAI ALLL DAY,NICE WAY TO COME BACK STRONG!!!!!

  • I think the technique fo the kung fu practicionner is very crisp

  • why is the muay thai guy backing up, i would be throwing kicks to his legs all day

  • this isnt mantis this is tai kwon do or karate they aren't doing enough to find out their style

  • ...THE FUCK???

  • lmao... it took me 10 years to get a briwn belt. Yes it was in america but i didnt learn from an idiot trying to make money of even bigger idiots. If you got your black belt in less than 6 years your a noob... end of story. These guys fight like yellow belts or worse. America is such an emberresment to the martial arts world

  • all I see is an irresponsible mom..... its real fun to watch until the baby gets a kick to the soft part on its head!

  • I think the "Mantis" fighter is actually a Muay Thai fighter

  • @dragonballzjss100 it is a muay thai fighter haha

  • CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a muay tai fighter against a "karate" guy. It's a pity that the person who posted tihs video doesn't know the difference - or that he or she used "misleading info" to get people to watch this match.

  • Oh fucking idiots this is not the mantis

  • By "Mantis" do they mean Muaythai??? lol

  • Someone wake me when it's over....zzzzzzzzz

  • mantis with globes??! dismembred mantis

  • Good sportsmanship!

  • For FUCK sake kick around his guard not into it >.<

  • For all of you Kung-Fools, the guy's name is Mantis!!! You stupid idiots!!!

  • @vintrexx - Mantis was not giving the black belt an opportunity to strike around his defense. The blackbelt doesn't know how to setup his shots and resorted to single weak strikes. Part of the problem is the black belt was uncommitted to his strikes because he knew Mantis was just playing and probably a little nervous of being knocked out. Mantis did good by holding back and gave the black belt a few wake up shots at the end.

  • @vintrexx ha ha ha I also came to look at a mantis practitioner...cause i have never seen this in actual fight..... so the guys name is mantis...ha ha ha

  • this is Jeet kune do

  • Really had nothing to do with Mantis. If anything, it was closer to Sanshou.

  • Squeak Squeak squeak................

  • OH MY GOD THHOSE FUCKING SHOES

  • there's nothin fugly abouth this fight at all

  • yawn

  • absolutely DIRE

  • so who won then lol tell you what get rid of the gloves the head gaurd and shin pads go out side in a feild or smething and do it again i can see when some on get hit wid a good shot they stop and admire it

if i has to fight its to servive not to prove my self to any one

look like yhey had fun doing it

  • that guy's clearly a muay thai fighter

  • Mantis scares me… it's his beard thing..

  • K1 pro..? Dude fought in K1? he seems small for the heavyweights, did he fight in Max? there are hardly any Americans that do well in K1, wonder if I ever saw him fight.. He fought any Dutch fighters?

  • pssh...that black belt kung-fu shit won't work in an actual street fight...even bruce said so

  • @15551cue depends on who's teaching. Belts for one isn't a Kung fu tradition.

  • Ahh Mantis is so relaxed very nice fighter.

  • That kick boxer was buying his time. When he did that first leg kick he figured it was time to wear the blk belt down then the guy on the sideline said use your knee to block I think he meant shin a knee vs a kickboxers leg would be suicide but over all good fight

  • Что это за ерунда?

  • that shit is this fight?

  • what a shit fight

  • Great video but what I saw was a Tai boxer and a guy in a Gee.

Solo kick boxing vs kick boxing

  • I hope he's alot better now....back then it didn't even look like he deserved that purple belt. Let alone test for a Black Belt.

Whatever dojo he trains/trained in was a total scam.

  • black belt? is this a show or a "fight"?

  • Those leg kicks by the kick boxer were ruthless and it looked like he was holding back too. LOL! whoa!

  • the dude in the muay thai shorts isn't doing squat. The other dudes face was wide open. Didn't even throw any jabs

  • The guy withe the red gloves seemed very jumpy and hesitant. There was obviously fear in his movements. The dude with the black gloves seems very composed. Most of the time only moving when he has to like blocking and such. His attacks were also very hard hitting it seemed. From their conviction alone, it seems the black gloves guy had it all under control. While the red gloves guy was wasting his stamina, the black gloves guy reserved his. Although b.gloves guy was acting cocky.

  • What the hell kind of sparing ring is this? Tile floor? Absolutely no room?

  • It's clear that the Thai fighter is taking it easy on the sloppy karate guy. All karate fighters can't put hand and foot together very well.

  • NO SUPERIOR MARTIAL ART! JUST SUPERIOR MARTIAL ARTISTS....

  • not the best representation of mantis, ive been doing mantis for 8 years and i didnt realize at first this was mantis that he was doing, it looked like a bad hun gar for a second, either way not the best

  • the fighter mantis should really try to block. hes obviously more powerful than the black belt but who cares if he had a knife then that thai fighters ignorant tendencie to take the blows would get him stabbed i bet that the black belt would fair better then. or hell if he just poked his eyes or his throat . not blocking or defending in any way is just pride fueled ignorance. when you dont know anything about your opponent and claim to know it all your bound to end up hurt thats honesty

  • @yizhichanlohan - Bros, first there wasn't any knifes so whatever. A Thai fighter not blocking is not a show of ignorance. The entire body is conditioned to act as shield, especially the core muscles. Taking a few hits from a rookie meh whatever.

There was no point for Mantis to annihilate the guy. He just let him have fun until round 3. Then he decided to help him understand why keeping the hands up is important. The Thai guy was respectful in not knocking him out or using elbows, knees.

  • LMAO at least the mantis guy did nothing the whole first two rounds, but then the 3 he opened a can of whoop ass lmao, black belt my ass

  • Wow you guys suck ass haha, I did better when I was a white belt.

  • wow one of the rarest videos that ive seen that portrays martial full contact at its best really really good video

  • why would a mantis fighter wear a karate belt, this is sick -_-

  • ridicolous

  • Look it name of other insect because Mantis nothing

  • this cant be mantis , mantis has a lot of grabbing and hooks and hes wearing gloves

  • what is this for a Muay Thai Fighter -.- he stand only in defense.....

  • That is actually a defensive muay thai style stance, (used by many thai fighters from thailand including buakaw). Also just because he is a "K1 Pro" does not mean he practices Muay thai (though he probably does, judging from his stance).

Also... MMA is not muay thai, and the kind of striking you see in MMA is not Muay Thai either. It is Muay Thai influenced and modified, yes, but not pure Muay Thai as you see from this stance. A stance designed for Muay Thai, no throws at distance.

  • just shoot in and take the k-1 fighter down both of thier stances are terrible ..ground and pound them

  • The fighter who is called "Mantis"... I want to see more of him! Where can i find more fights with this guy. If he's realy a K1 Pro fighter it cant be so dificult to find more fights with him.. But i found nothing.

  • bring your baby to a kung fu fight night

  • LOL FU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!

  • sooo relaxed pro with sooo good technique, nice vid. I know mantis is his name, but that muay thai stance looks a little like a mantis stance.

  • Pues un combate de Kick Boxing entre los dos. No se ve Mantis por ningún lado

  • I love it. A guy called mantis, who has nothing to do with the mantis style. ahahaha. :o)

  • mantis vs my dick. that would be one hell of a fight.

  • excellent job.

  • for anyone that was woundering if the man named mantis his art is miya tie "not the right spelling but right sound"

  • Where exactly did this guy get his black belt? An online course?

  • i had to be better than this to get my yellow....just sayin

  • The Muay Thai fighter is much better. That karate stuff has no power. You can hear the pop in the Thai fighters strikes. He was ready to go another 10 rounds.

  • My guess is the "black belt" dude is Tae-Kwon Do or some other sort of corrupt Karate? I know Mantis us mu thai, but I can't make out anything from the other guy's style beyond the lunge kick he does halfway and the fact that it sucks.

  • @DrQuijano corrupt karate? wtf are you on about Tae-Kwon Do is a totally different art to Karate get to know your information before you talking about shit you don't know about mate

  • @slayer1234567891 I wasnt clear. I didnt mean "Tae Kwon Do is corrupt Karate", I meant to say "It's either Tae Kwon Do (I know this is a kick-heavy style.I took a few lessons when I was 8,then changed to Aikido. My nephew is a black belt in TKD) OR it's some other type of mixed martial art that includes some stuff from TKD (I said corrupt when I should've said mixed). My bad if I insulted the TKD community, but you have to admit your punches and throws are still inferior. So, what is his style?

  • @DrQuijano ahk I get what you mean now, yea I'm still wondering what his style is although there both bad fighters so it's hard to tell what they're doing.

  • way too much dancing around or standing around doing nothing then making one contact and breaking off. fucks that?

  • where are the nobs fighting? In the hospital waiting room?? There is a mother and baby in the back, Bizzar.

  • @mickichef LMAOOOOOOO UR COMMENT WAS FUNNY

  • the black belt is a real noob

  • o yea thats muay thai

  • Retards the guy with shin pads on is doing muay thai you fucking tards.
