  • Brian Free is awesome.....

  • tenho pouco tempo q conheço os video de gold city,não sei inglês mais sei q são letras profundas .virei fã,Deus os abençoe!!!

  • powerful powerful

  • Does anyone have the piano chords for this song?

  • Most kids grow up on watching cartoons. Thanks to my parents, I grew up listening to Gold City, The Cathedrals, The Kingsmen, etc... I was just a young little boy during the early 90's, but I had the privilege of seeing these groups in concert. SGM was a huge part of my chidhood and it still is today. Thank you newtz2000 for posting these videos!

  • Glory

  • if you can find a version of this with Jonathan singing... now that's some sangin

  • Sing it Ivan!!!!!

  • this is my first time hearing this group...but i notice listening to the music and watching the videos..there has been different people singing...has the group changed?

  • AMEM!!

  • THIS AWESOME AWESOME SONG JESUS U BE PRAISED

  • TIM REALMENTE ELEVADOR...DESDE ARGENTINA

  • Gold City is coming to my church this wed. for our prayer revival. I'm so excited!!!!

  • Ivan, the singer, the Preacher!!! Praise the Lord!!

  • Wow! Powerful! Praise God!!

  • this is the best! Ivan Parker is Fantastic I wish they would come to Jacksonville Fl

  • peace in God... simply awesome!!!!

  • Great song proof only jesus gives eternal life and has power over death!!!!!

  • Great song!! Nice to hear good christian music. Sad though to see a nation (USA) founded on God and Christian values. Completely turn their back on God. Hopefully we will repent and God will heal our land

  • ivan parker was a great and established member of gold city. if not for him they wouldnt be what they are or what become. i respect all the members that had have or will carry on the tradition

  • I didn't know Ivan Parker sang with Gold City!

  • Desde Argentina, este tema me encanta,me hace llorar, Amo a Cirsto y a Gold City ,Ivan es mi idolo, canta hermoso..... y gran cancion

  • In English or in Portuguese, this song always touchs me

  • I have been a bass singer fan for ever, but I now have great respect for tenors. Brian is one of my favorites. With that said, Tim is awesome, he hits notes that vibrate the windows in my house....

    Such a powerful song!!!!

  • I couldn't agree with you more, although Ivan and Brian are comparable in many respects as tenors. However, the comment I agree with you most is about Tim and his low, vibrating bass notes. My wife and I saw Gold City live in concert at a church in Victorville,CA and he hit a note so low that, as a bass, I was totally in awe of, and which vibrating the glass windows of the building. Unbelievable!!!

  • In all the praise of the Brian, Ivan, Mike, and Tim lineup, I haven't noticed that anyone noticed that Mike isn't the baritone in this video. That is Steve Lacey, who is awesome. This video has to be around 1992-93, just before Brian and Ivan left, when Steve Lacey became lead singer when Trammell joined.

  • MY most favorite song by Gold city...beautiful,beautiful song....

  • Gold City is possibly my favorite gospel quartet. Doesn't matter to me the lineup, either. All the members here as well as all the ones currently in Gold City all show their passion for music and God, and I love how genuine they are in their worship.

  • What a great song and performance. I've got this exact same video on a very old VHS tape. Really good performances across the board. I do so love that song "We've Come to Worship" that Biney English wrote.

Our pastor sang this very song this morning, and tonight I'm going to a local church to see the current version of Gold City.

  • I"m love the songs that Biney English writes, especially the song "I've Been Touched". I also have a VHS tape of this concert. Mine does't play as well as it use to, but it still plays.

  • I'm sitting here, 8 in the morning and coffee in hand watching this video shouting PRAISE GOD FOR THE LAMB!!!

And I don't care if the neighbors are watching.

The resurrection if proof that we serve a living God!!!

Thats where I am placing my eternity

  • Amen to that Jim, the thought puts me on shoutin' ground.

  • I love that dress that Candy Hemphill Christmas is wearing...in the background there...

  • praise the lord this song is an insparation 2 me.Its helped through.........

  • I love this lineup of gold city, it is the best ever. I have videos of them going clear back to when Brian Free was just a cute kid. with Tim Riley, Ivan Parker, and Mike Lefevre . we saw Brian Free and assurance last night at lebanon ,mo. feb 13 .. realy enjoyed all the singing.thanks and God bless

  • jesus christ rose from the dead, this is the difference between christianity and other religions- we serve a living Savior!

  • @calvarykidamen Amen.....He lives in my heart every moment of everyday

  • The greatest version of Gold City period!!!

There is no debating it. Maybe the greatest album in the history of So. Gospel-Pillars of Faith. Doesn't Brian Free resemble Eddie Munster here? LOL

  • it was a great album...but i can't see the resemblence lol...

  • Awsome song and beautiful voices

  • old fashion all the way

  • amen there rose a lamb preach it brother \O/ people rejoice for there rose a lamb

  • was that Eva Mae Lefevre? I know that Mt. Paran COG is Mylon's home church.

  • got to be the best Gold City line up.

  • I think it's a draw between this and the line up with Jonathan Wilburn, Tim Riley, Jay Parrick, and Mark Trammel. That was awesome also.

  • I agree. GCQ has always attracted amazing talent (Tim Riley, Ivan Parker, Mark Trammel, Brian Free, Jay Parrack, Jonathan Wilburn for example), but in my estimation, the Riley/Trammel/Wilburn/Parrack GCQ was the best. They are simply amazing, God-gifted talents.

  • Sorry chief....vocally speaking, jay and jonathan couldn't shine ivan and brian's shoes. That's like comparing high school football players to NFL players. But I respect your opinion, and your entitled to your own musical taste. But you can't eat Krystal burgers with Lobster!

  • Oh I think Ivan is incredible. I'm talking about the energy of the concert. On that there is no comparison. Seen both and the band with Jonathan, Jay and Mark was incredible. Jonathan knows how to turn loose and have church and to me that makes a big difference. But I'll tell you, the album that this song came off of is one of the best I've ever heard, it's a classic.

  • I appreciate Ivan Parkers testamony. a lot of churches have taken the alters out of their churches, so now alters are realy old fashioned. now many are trying to take Jesus shed blood out of churches . without Jesus blood there is no salvation . Jesus is all,and through him is the only way to be saved . raie

  • I'm a firm believe that in many ways, the old ways are the best ways. It's like the hymn says. "My sin was old-fashioned, my guilt was old-fashioned, His Love was old-fashioned I know. And the way I was saved was the old-fashioned way through the Blood that makes whiter than snow."

  • You can keep the message the same but have newer and more modern praise and worship and it works just great. I love this music but I also love modern praise like Lakewood and Michael W. Smith. His new one is live and it's fantastic.

  • I'm glad that Jesus was interested in the "old-fashioned way." Otherwise we'd still be sacrificing bulls and goats in the backyard hopelessly trying to atone for our depraved sin nature. Old songs are great and can be learned from, however, even the psalmist, the most annointed of all songwriters wrote, "sing a new song unto the Lord!"

  • I meant to say Jesus "wasn't" interested in the "old fashioned way."

  • Well, I see what you're saying, but I can't help but disagree with the presumption. Jesus actually was interested in the "old fashioned way." In a sense. He said "I come not to destroy the law, but to fulfill." We don't sacrifice goats, because the final sacrifice has come. That's not to say the old fashioned way was bad. Gal. 4:4 says He was made UNDER the law, the "old fashioned way." Yeah, he was interested, but he fulfilled it. But not all of "old ways" should be discarded.

  • amen!!

  • This has become my favorite Gold City song, Midnight Cry comes in a close second....These boys are a wonderful ministry to the Lords Loving ways.....

  • I Agree my All time Favorite Gold City Line up Brian Free,Ivan Parker,Mike Lafever, & Tim Riley

  • OMG I absolutely love this song..My family and I used to sing it all the time and I never knew who sang it...This gave me chill bumps

  • Superb, great memories of Gold City and Kingsmen performing at Murat Temple in Indianapolis in the early 90's. Great concerts. Contemporary music really has really influenced Souther Gospel. It's just not the same anymore.

  • When and where was this worship service, and is the entire program on video? I seem to be hooked on this and the Greater Vision "There is a River" performed on the same night. It seems the Holy Spirit was present and presented in those short clips and I'd like to see more.

  • Gidday, the video is called "We've Come To Worship". It was released by Benson Music Group in '93. I'm not sure of the date it was recorded, but the venue was the Mt. Paran Church of God. The Tanya Goodman video I have posted is also from the same concert.

  • whats wrong with me ,i keep coming back to listen to this song !!!!! im not a bible basher ,yes i belive in somthing but ive never been a church goer even during military service ,even when i went to war during the first gulf war ...theres just sumthing about this song and the guys singing it ...can sum1 please give me an explanation!!!!!

  • That's the holy spirit talking to you. I would say to find a pastor close to you and talk to him about it. Search more videos for Gold City. Also the lead singer here, Ivan Parker, is a solo act. Search for him too.

  • There is nothing "wrong" with you Listen to that little voice that keeps bringing you back to this video and the praising of the Lord. I too was taken by this song many years ago and have learned more about God and his blessings than I ever did in "church." Gold City was anointed as were many other's I now call my favorite music genre. I'm not a bible thumper, but only God can bring forth the feelings inside you like this video did. Like it did in me too.....

  • hi guys ,im back again ,i just cant seem to stay away from this video of these guys singing this song...uplifting is just not a big enough word to describe just how i feel when i listen to it ..it is awe inspiring music ...ive now watched this video about 50 times in the past week since i left my first comment ,i just felt i had to leave another ...thanx newtz2000...i cant say im converted yet but the road is straightening and the light is there in the distance..thanx again

  • "WOW" im not a bible basher ,but i do believe in somthing Greater than us.and the way to get the message across is through fantastic songs like this ...i am a lover of Southern Gospeland this group is fantastic ,can any1 tell me more about them ?

  • Gold City are a group started in the eighties that rose to the heights of Southern Gospel. The premium line up consisted of Tim Riley - Bass, Ivan Parker - Lead, Mike Le Fevre - Baritone, and Brian Free - Tenor. They really set the standard, along with The Cathedrals, for many years.

  • Ivan is the best lead...

  • thanx newtz2000,that was very informative and thanx for taking the time to reply .

  • Yes... for about 5 years running, they couldn't be touched... they were bascially an 'all-star' quartet..... from the late '80's until 1993(when Brian Free and Ivan Parker left) there was no one that could touch them. P.S. They were SO far ahead of their time, the 'new' Gold City, is still using some of the soundtracks from this particular album(Pillars of Faith) at some of their concerts TODAY! Amazing really...

  • I should also mention... that I took a group of kids on a trip last year, and played this album in the van, and the kids actually enjoyed, and could NOT believe that the album was 15 years old... that is PROOF that they were ahead of their time, when young Christian teenagers will listen to it 15 years later.... I can garuntee they would NOT listen to 95% of the stuff that was recorded that long ago... it sounds too 'old' for them. ;)

  • Oh my soul! Ivan! He's my favorite Gospel singer. I miss him from the Gold City lineup.

  • Thanks for posting!
