I really dont think you understand what special forces are. Once you are done with basic and fully commited to the military for at least four years, then you can begin special ops training. This will entail months or even years of grueling mental and physical suffering, as well as a lot of learning of skills and tactics. At the end, then you will have earned your beret, but most will never make it to that point. Taliban training is no more extensive than making sure you are ready to die.
Everything needed to become a member of US special forces is fully outlined in many books If you turn up to the enrole office you will be openly told what you'll have to do

The incident you keep trying to refrence resulting in the death of 17 civilians was, as I have said, not carried out by the troops defending this base or involved in this battle. You are talking about the accidental killing of 17 civilians by a helicopter on patrol prior to these events. A gunner misunderstanding, getting over eager and mistakenly killing civilians, while tragic and detrimental to the war effort, is not an execution. By all means though, continue to ignore reality.

Even if someone could access the entire training course, which I promise you they cant, very very few would be able to train as hard as US forces let alone harder. All that aside, its obvious that even if they have the capability, they havent done any such training, hence the 20:1 kill ratio favoring U.S. over the course of the war

Its not a matter of getting tired of it. No one thinks this war is a game. You forget however that unlike in Nam, we are fighting an enemy who has attacked us on our own turf and all over the world before we ever engaged them. The media so often downplays the fact that America has a very real stake in this war. Also I would note that this is a highly successful war. Although every death is a tragedy, under 5 thousand casualties over 8 years of war is unheard of in any other conflict.

The people we are currently fighting in Iraq are mostly Iranian, Pakistani and Syrian. To the best of my knowledge, our short sighted politicians have never supported dictators in those countries. They come into Iraq to try to take advantage of the unstable situation, and because if they can kill American troops in Iraq, they wont have to go to all the trouble of orchestrating attaks on US soil, which I believe if left to their own devices, they would still be doing.

If you read a report of what ensued, you will know that the taliban did order the villagers to leave their homes. Even wikipedia agrees on this point despite the fact that they occasionally tend to lean a bit left, though I believe they do their best not to. I really dont think you understand what special forces are. Once you are done with basic and fully commited to the military for at least four years, then you can begin special ops training. This will entail months or even years of grueling mental and physical suffering, as well as a lot of learning of skills and tactics. At the end, then you will have earned your beret, but most will never make it to that point. Taliban training is no more extensive than making sure you are ready to die.

Second of all, this portion of training ensures that those who earn the title of seal are those who will never quit and will endure anything to accomplish the mission, in this case hell week secure. Spec ops is not a division, moron. It refers to multiple types of highly trained soldiers/sailors/marines/airmen. This includes Special Forces, Delta, Seals, MARSOC, CCT and pararescue and probably others I have forgotten or am unaware of. The techniques SEALS use to get in shape are very simple and in no way a secret. A lot of pushups, crunches, situps, other calisthenics and running. The one book you managed to mention is not revealing anything. they are just trying to use their SEAL experience to turn a buck with a workout plan. The incident you keep trying to refrence resulting in the death of 17 civilians was, as I have said, not carried out by the troops defending this base or involved in this battle. You are talking about the accidental killing of 17 civilians by a helicopter on patrol prior to these events. A gunner misunderstanding, getting over eager and mistakenly killing civilians, while tragic and detrimental to the war effort, is not an execution. By all means though, continue to ignore reality.

The soldiers defending the base never ran away, moron. Once again you prove you have no fucking clue what you are talking about. They stayed at the base and continued to fight and take as well as inflict casualties until they recieved assistance from air support.

After the battle, the strategy of trying to set up a base was abandoned, seeing as how it was clearly inneffective. Instead the army maintained regular patrols in the area, as opposed to constant stationary presence against whom attacks are easily planned.

The entire training course for all US special forces can be found in books.
So anyone can read them and train as hard and harder than any US special forces soldier.

Even if someone could access the entire training course, which I promise you they cant, very very few would be able to train as hard as US forces let alone harder. That goes double when you consider the fact that the insurgents lack the funding, organization, facilities, experienced instructors or drive to do any such training. All that aside, its obvious that even if they have the capability, they havent done any such training, hence the 20:1 kill ratio favoring U.S. over the course of the war

I know you have thus far failed to make a single point but that is no call for making shit up. I'm saying that U.S. special forces train just about as hard as it is possible for a human being to train, and in most cases harder, hence attrition rates sometimes as high as 96%.

The conditions of the battle were rigged against the U.S. soldiers in every concievable way, yet they held their ground for half an hour of solid fighting until most of their force was dead or injured.
