I have to say I agree with you on the foot thing. It sounds strange that the foot would be the hard thing, but it seems like the only difference between hard and expert on some of these songs is more pedal.

I finally managed to get 4 stars on this song on expert. Way to go with the 100%. :)

Ive been real drumming on and off for 3 years now, but ive been playing rock band drums for about a year :D. The foot coordination just takes practice practice practice. Soon youll be able to ignore your hands( theyll just do theyre thing) and focus on the foot!
