  • Shes not even fat??

  • @BanjoBabe11, nope.

  • Michelle's fingernails are very pretty. And yes, she's a superb dancer. Who am I to forget that!

  • Wow, she's healthy. You can tell because she's like the perfect place to be for fitness, not too skinny but not too chunky either. Alas, I wish I was at that place... XD

  • She's not fat, you can't even call her 'big boned'. She beautiful, just enjoy.

  • good grief...someone actually thinks she's fat? she looks great, nice and curvy. not everyone wants to look like lindsy lohan!

  • wow, she's so beautiful, sexy and fit! And how she can move! She must have so good trained muscles all around (without muscles and good belly-dance work out you cannot do this so well): I guess many of the men who criticize she's fat would get destroied by her half an hour work out!

  • I wonder how many commentators on this post are Americans, only because for a nation obsessed with skinny girls, the majority of the population is overwieght.

Additionally, like @TUBEUARE said, belly dancers jiggle their LITTLE bellies...and butts, and breasts, and seem soft or bouncy as opposed to bony and stiff

  • Who said she's fat? Lol, she looks so good!!

  • i couldnt do this to save my life -_-,, but i wash i could :D

  • this woman isn't fat, nor is she curvey, TBH she average, just like me and probably all of you too. bellydance liberates women of all sizes and gives them the freedom to dance and be sensual no matter their size or shape. Let's not judge her or ourselves and just be sisters... the revolution begins with women making the change in thei communities...don't spread hate

  • Would this work out give you abs too?

  • Yes, she has a little belly fat, but that's a good thing. The goal of belly dance as a workout is to shape you into the perfect feminine form. The perfect feminine form as described by belly dance does not necessarily have six-pack abs or visible ribs. It actually takes more effort to produce a shimmy if you're that thin. The word here is "soft" and that's what belly dancers are supposed to be. Take it from a girl who knows, belly dancers come in ALL shapes and sizes.

  • Comentarios idiota dessas pessoas so entra para isso, eu achei ela muita bonita.

  • @MrLeda8001

I agree, and I'm watching it to enhance my samba...almost any woman looks enticing when moving her body the right way

  • wow, she shimmies really good

  • FAT? you're mom's fat

  • i def agree with pookoos

  • Yeah shes not fat, just 'big boned' lol. Say what you want, but when youre instructing something thats supposed to help you lose tummy fat, you have to be perfect. And shes not.

  • She's not fat... she is normal weight. I'm seriously frustrated with a society that grooms people to think of healthy women as disgusting. It has GOT to stop. It seems like human beings are getting more and more dysfunctional and out of touch with reality. We've already done a great job making women hate themselves. You think it's possible for a man to have a good, fulfilling relationship with a self-hating woman? Guess what? It isn't. Where is all this going to lead us in the future?

  • I wonder how you the people judging her look like....so you are telling me you're mister/miss perfect, yeah sure, there is no such thing.

By the way do I need to remind you that this is a video for people trying to discover this dance and not for showing off the body.

My gosh what's wrong with you people...the media really destroyed your normal image of the world....all magazines pictures are photoshopped, big time! She is looking great!

  • @Newyorkgirlable what belly fat? she is perfect size ... god forbid if she is not 78 freaking pounds ... get a life asshole

  • @Newyorkgirlable ur prolly fat talking shit lol ...

  • @dongster3 sweetheart how am i even fat? oh yeah you don't know me but just to give you a clue i'm no where near fat i'm very skinny so get u facts straight.

  • @Newyorkgirlable wow you're a hateful bitch... didn't your momma teach you that if you don't have anything nice (or at least constructful) to say, than shut your mouth?

  • @Newyorkgirlable Not bitch she isn't fat, Its called : Boobs, Ass, Hips and a Waist. Stfu.

  • Geez she's no fat people. She's curvy, do you know how hard it is to stay fit when you have bigger boobs? Trust me, it's a pain.

  • Do you need a belly to belly dance? :(

  • @theincredibleisis you don't but it looks nicer if you do :)

  • @theincredibleisis --- OMG! ur funny.......

  • i luv belly dancing! jus startd 2day! whoevr said she was fat need to get there eyes chekd! i wish i was her size! but her belts a little low....

  • perfect hips....my ass!!

  • Belt too low, and nasty back drawing yuk !!!!

  • she was dancing with so perfection.....coooooooool!

  • 0:20 how do it ?!?!?!?

  • @dziunia2206 it's called the maya just go to youtube and search "how to do the maya in belly dancing" they'll show you how to do it.

  • i don't know what ankha is talking about. She's fairly skinny. She looks completely normal. Get a perspective change.

  • she not fat she just really jelly like

  • I don't have a problem...she has...

  • Looks like this will be a good DVD - If you have listened to this clip she is talking about strength toning and confidence... these type of workouts are also endurance based its also nice to see a real woman promoting a dvd not a workout dvd by a personal trainer - if you want to loose weight with belly dance complement your routine with walking first as part of a warm up pre-dancing eat a healthy balanced diet - and look at what you drink, I know If i followed my own advice I would be slim too!

  • oh my god not fat! belly dancers are beautiful. I love that they have curves. I think this looks sexy and gives you good hips as they say. this is empowering for women unlike so many diets and body images.

  • @ankha102 what exactly is wrong with her body? women of all sizes belly dance and it's about being the best size the INDIVIDUAL can be. Not every woman is exactly the same size. What's your problem?

  • Yeah, she's definitely not fat. She looks like a real woman! Ugh.

  • i think belly dance is cool

  • She's not fat.

Obviously you have no clue what's fat and what's

    curvy.

Maybe your use to cover girls. but she's curvy and SHE EATS!

  • @SmileyxCandy and she's sexy

  • @SmileyxCandy Yes, But the curvey bodies are so SEXYYY!! LOL!

  • @SmileyxCandy doesnt she NEED a little belly to be a belly dancer?

  • @bluekissesxoxo yeah ! I don't remember seeing any anorexic BELLY dancers.

  • @kookooacho Right?! I went to a greek restaurant and she was thin but had a belly. Another place I was at the dancer had a belly! Hmmmm...they-are-called "BeLLY DaNcErS" xD ;)

  • Ms. AbercrombieGirl, I don't know if you noticed but most belly dancers ( especially the pros ) have a little belly to work with. I wish I had her belly instead of the blob I have now.

  • ur an anorexic bitch

  • me too

  • this is hard.. I have to learn how to coordinate myself first!

  • have you tried Stott Pilates?

  • Only woman who have issues try to take out the sexuality parts in any dance....especially one as blantent ans this one. Sexuality is a part of LIFE and dances represent LIFE. Get over it!

  • 11visionary11 and GuitarRockinChick18

both of you are right, belly dance was a dance for women made by women to entertain each other and increase fertility and all that jazz but the women once they were married would entertain there husbands. so yeah take it from an arab whos been taught to dance like this since i could walk

  • ooh really!!!! TEACHETH ME PLZ!!! LOL no seriously... help...

  • I like belly dancing its the best workout I've ever had.

  • I am not compairing belly dancing to stripping...but ALOT of the movements are the same...why? bc its sexual! a blind person could see this! Is it ALL sexual? No, of course not, but to deny it is like saying the sky isnt blue:) I dont know why you would have issue with it, sexuality is natural, universal and normal.

  • v11visionary, you seem to be missing the point. a lot of these movements are the same in many dances, such as latin dance. But, even more interesting, at least to me, is that a lot of the pelvic moves are very similar to some Chinese martial arts. These movements are fundamental to the human body, and the human experience. Your insistence that this is primarily sexual misses a lot of what it is truly about. For instance, just as the sex act is "sexual" for many people it is equally spiritual.

  • i never once said this dance was "primarily" sexual, but agrued agaisnt those who said there was NO sexuality in it,,,,which is just stupid. I said it was a spiritual dance, but yes it was also SEXUAL which is NATURAL and not wrong. It is the same in EVERY culture....you actually AGREE with me, so why the hell do you ppl freek out about something being natural and sexual?

If you have issues aobut sexuality, dont force a dance to fit your issue.

  • LOL, hey visionary, i guess i did not read your post correctly. sorry. you and i actually do agree. people freak out about sexuality because A) they aren't getting any and don't want anyone else to get any, or B) they have been really screwed up by the people they have encountered in life. Sex is one of the best reasons for living, and anyone who doesn't think so is more than welcome to stew in their own frustrated juices.

  • Well you said I was "missing the point" and I disagree:) Sex is natural and great and your right...too many ppl stew in their own frustrated juices:)

  • you were right and I was wrong. i often skim a message and respond without knowing what the heck i am talking about. peace.

  • lol, I do that too:)

  • needs to get a bigger and tonner butty, but is fine

  • nice video..=]

  • Soooooooooooo nce video, I really liked.

  • Who ever said she is fat needs to consult a mental health professional to find out why they have such a skewed perception of body size. Seek help please and keep your opinions to yourself.

  • LMFAO she not fat at all XD

you ignorant media brain washed arrogant moron ^-^

your proberly an anorexic barbie who has nothing to shake

    >_>

have a nice day. go eat something.

    its called being helthy.

Obese = fat. this woman looks about a BMI 21/20 shes got an amazing body.

dnt be goign insulting it with you stupid opinion of whats 'fat'

  • Absolutely Right

  • Hahahaha "...nothing to shake" ...it killed me!

  • if she was thin she wouldn't have anything to shake lol

  • I find Michelle slim?!

  • first of all, she isnt, she's healthy.

Just because she actually has some hips and an ass doesnt make her 'so fat'

Secondly, it would be boring it a little tiny stick figure were belly dancing. It would look like a middle school kid was trying to look sexy.

  • Body image is not an issue with belly dance. You can be huge, moderate, or thin. Keep in mind there may be thin dancers reading your comments...

  • ya completely agree.

telling a thin person to "have a meal" is the same as a thin one telling a rounder woman "skip the next meal".

Thin bellydancers are sad enough over having more trouble with shimmies, and not finding good coin scarves (who do not have a coin line so long that each time coins and pearls fall of while tying it - and the scarf itself continuously escapes downwards in class :)

  • lol true

  • Hmm I started buying from sellers who either carry different sizes or alter it for a small extra charge ;))))

  • Well, you are making my point even more clear. I know body image is not an issue with belly dance.

Im not saying that thin belly dancers look bad. I was merely pointing out that I personally think it looks more interesting and more engaging if the woman has a little more to flaunt.

I dont want thin people to 'have a meal' as dinavienna says, i was just defending my personal opnion, and how I think people should just back off the bigger girls

  • Oh I was not implying you said that? Sorry you took it that way.

I meant to agree with you that bellydance is for all body types. And meant to add to what you said thin dancers have certain issues with some moves and with finding clothes for the dance, which maybe are not obvious to other people who ve not walked in those shoes - or shimmied in those scarves :))

  • Sorry I have to take partly back what I just said. I read Xanphina's comment and thought it was yours which sparked your reaction towards me.

You said "thin little sticks" would look "boring", and implied it s ridiculous to practice sensual moves with few curves, "like a schoolgirl trying to be sexy".

Do you get how DISRESPECTFUL and insultin that is? it s the same as if a slim dancer told a fuller dancer something disrespectful on how she looks while dancing.

  • You realize how disrespectful and insulting it is for someone to say the same to a bigger dancer? Why not defend both sides, not just one or the other.

My opinion was such and I stated it as which i meant: yours on the other hand is marred by the way you seek to have a "right vs. wrong" in which there is none, and i find what you have said both disrespectful and hypocritical.

  • "You realize how disrespectful and insulting it is for someone to say the same to a bigger dancer?"

YES, defend both sides - that is what I did.

*I* would NEVER in my life say something disrespectful to a bigger dancer. *I* would rather cut my tongue before I tell someone they make a fool out of themselves trying to be sexy doing a sensual dance.

    But people are different.

Don't try to put the blame on *me* - who said NOTHING against anybody - for saying something disrespectful yourself.

  • This dance is a remnant of our goddess worship past, a dance of feminine power, beauty, and childbirth. (Belly dance is fast becoming a popular prenatal exercise because of how well it prepares the body for labor, some of the movement actually mimic women in labor)It is absolutely not a dance for male enjoyment RAGMAN2008!!! Arab men actually belly dance but their version of the dance is more masculine. BTW the name belly dance is misleading and was only used to entice people at the worlds fair.

  • she has a perfekt body i love it i want it ,too (:

    i like belly dancing

  • I'd love to see the full tattoo on her back, she's got a beautiful body!

  • belly dance was used and is used by the arabs in courts and palaces by the female dancers and female entertainers for the court and the king or heads....

it is an ancient form of cabaret dance....

wow, look ur the booty and hips shake in the dance...

cuz, thats what the dance was meant for, men watch women do the belly dance..and there is nothing so great about it...

that was done for entertainment to men, done by the court dancers women...

and you are publicizing it making it respectable...

  • This is a huge misconception perpetuated at the turn of the century by oriental style painters. Belly dance, first of all, is the folk dancing of various nations. Not an ancient form of cabaret dancing. It was originally a dance for and by women only. Men were not allowed to even watch the dance. In the past Arab women wouldn't even dance for their male relatives because dance was actually seen as a lowly profession.

  • Absolutely Right

  • well that clearly shows how little you know about belly dancing. It was not designed for men but by women for women. Some of the moves were shown by elder woman to younger ones and performed in front of family. It was family entertainment.

  • sorry, but there were men belly dancers before woman dancers....dancers also preformed before married couples to show them what to do later:) yes it was and is entertaimnet...but its also sexy.....not for entire familys...

  • Would you tell me where you got the idea from men bellydanced before women dancers? For quite a few centuries in some countries - notably in the Maghreb - women were forbidden to perform in public (like the times in Europe where men played women in theatres, and male singers had themselves castrated to sing women's parts in the opera). But that was obviously after women had performed for centuries before. so what s your source?

And in the Mideast my grandmother tells me her grandmother already

  • My sister-in-law studied the history. She was the one who told me about male dancers and how in some places they would preform, not woman....

  • As for woman preforming before married couples, another friend who studies this( for her familys history) is from the middle east.

  • and as for my view that it was not invented by woman for woman, that it IS a sexual dance......look at it :) How many woman in any culture dance with little clothing, sensual motions, to entertain their grandmas? its to attract attention of the oppostie sex. Why ppl think theres something wrong with that is beyond me.

  • It WAS performed by men in Morocco, above all, after women'd been banned to do so for reasons of "public decency".

Many Mideasterners do not know much about bellydance: Some find it obscene or misrepresenting their culture. That is because of the form we see today: The nakedness. While I find the costumes appealing and charming, I can see why many Arabs don'T. They came up in Cairo's nightclubs in the 30s, when British and French soldiers wanted to be entertained. And from Moulin Rouge, Crazy

  • Horse etc they knew somewhat different costumes than the Arab dancers were wearing (fully covered, with bright hip scarves). So nudity was demanded by foreigners, and well appreciated by Arabs who wanted to be modern. Hence today's typical bellydance costume was born.

Yes, there are sensual motions - just like in Latin dance, Native American, Tahitian etc. All of these dance forms, including the folklore behind bellydance, is people's social dance. In a way sure to appeal to the other sex,

  • but that holds true for ANY folkloric dance worldwide. Women and men will present their "assets" - women their beauty, men their strength. And yes bellydance was glamorized and takes it further than many other folkloric dances.

But if you go to an Arab women's party - a Saudi party or wedding where the sexes are strictly segregated - women dance this way for each other. It is deeply rooted in Arabic culture, and more about emotion than blatant sexuality. And it fits the music perfectly.

  • I never said it wasnt emotional. Yes it fits the music :) I never said otherwise. Yes its true for all dances,lol...again, its obvious. I also never said it couldnt be preformed for woman, but that it wasnt MADE by woamn FOR woman.....also, depending on whos dancing..like turkish...verses egiptian..it is more sexual.

  • yeah it was performed by women for women. men were not allowed to see the dances. Women danced for fertility, childbirth, pregnancy, and anything else they wanted to celebrate. you prolly shouldn't argue with dinavienna because she IS the belly dancer from the east. She does know what she's talking about!

  • obvioulsy not. this dance was not made by woman for woman......i am sure they danced for eachother but there is a sexual theme that noone can deny and unless they were all lesbians, it was partly for men. even dinavienna agrees with that :)

  • theres a sexual theme NOW. wasnt before. when it first originated it was not sexual. after it spread throughout the middle east and over to the west is when it became "sexual". even dinavienna agrees with that.

  • lol right....ok, so theres a dance, preformed by woman(and men) with sensual movements, mimicking sexual motions, shaking and girating hips, shaking breasts, looking very pretty and all dressed up and it is all done to entertain grandmas and daughters...to tell storys of childbirth (which isnt sexual in the least) and other things.....and has nothing to do with men or being sexy.....never has......sure sweeite, and the sun rises in the west :)...LOL....

  • This isnt all spiritual, girls bonding ...lol....to say it is is denying a precious part of humanity and womanhood. Its also dishonest. All woman want to be sexy, all woman are sexual creatures, they always were and they dance to show it. bravo for them. How many woman get together, dress up, sensualy grind their hips and it has nothing to do with men? none. If it wasnt about men, we wouldnt dress upa nd show of our femininity and sexuality so blantenly.

  • And as for it being sexual NOW.....well, the shimming, the sensual movements of the hips, the girating...all the things that make this dance what it is didnt jsut appear. I am sure they may have preformed a bit different dance in front of grandma nd the kdis than men and adults..but the basics are there. Trying to convince yourself otherwise is usless.

  • ok this is how it goes. the "shking of the hips" mimicks the movements of CHILDBIRTH, the body movements represented the body durring CHILDBIRTH. swaying of the hips, shimmying, etc. please educate yourself. nowadays it is considered "sensual" BECAUSE of the west. would you like the friggin links to the sites that say all of this? i could go on and on but the real professionals could convince you otherwise. do you even dance???

  • I really dont think we disagree on this.lol...and yes, I like this dance, find it entertaining and thinks its one any woman of any size can do :) its a dance that makes all woman look and feel great:)

  • I wrote a LOONG message (too long for here :) ) on what YOU will perceive as sexual coming from a Western Anglosaxon white country (predominantly), and how Arab society, as strict as it might appear from the outside, religiously, perceives as emotional rather than sexual. The movements, the facial expression, the shimmy is more accurately called "shiver", body language wise it means yearning, heartbeating fast etc. such meanings. Not primarily perceived sexual, and really a FAMILY thing :)

  • yearning is not sexual? lol...fast heartbeating is not sexual? some things are universal sweetie :)

  • your heart can beat fast when you re in LOVE.

Maybe you perceive everything emotional/romantic as sexual - then we have a defintion problem here.

To me they are not inherently sexual. They are emotional/romantic, which can LEAD to sexuality.

if for you love and romance in feelings is already sexual, I understand where you re coming from.

I (and many people from my culture) distinguish between what is FELT and what is DONE.

  • love, romance is PART of sexuality. As for what is felt and what is done.....you can find a woman (or dance) sexual and not talk or do anything about it...doesnt change the fact it is sexual.

  • To YOU these things are entirely sexual.

To other people there s emotion/romance and there s sexuality. Ideally, they overlap, but they can be independent.

One can be madly in love with a person on a mental level, but not feel sexual attraction at all.

  • Yes its possible to be attracted to someone emotioanly and not physicaly, I never said it wasnt.

Noone dances sensually about platonic love...that would be more of a line dance :) This kind of dance is NOT platonic...anyone with eyes can see that. I dkont get why it bothers you.

  • could you ever imagine victoria beckam belly dancing? she would look funny!!! Belly dance is definitely not for skinny women! I love curves!!!

  • she has a great body, and she is healthy , i think a nice and sexy body is the one that goes with your tipe of body,if you are healthy and have your ideal weight , you look much much better than if you are on your bones when that is not your tipe of body

  • yeah it weird that now because of the "zize 0" thing people dont actually know how a womans body should look. victoria beckham, nicole richie ect is not healthy, technicaly they have the bodies of children. That is not sexy. The woman in this video is sexy. She is a real woman. obviously is great shape. I mean look at the way she moves. Thats what a woman should look like. curvy and soft. Not an ounce of fat on her

  • that s exactly what i was thinkin.

i m tall and underweight, so no jealousy of size 0 on the way coz i often wish i d be curvier. and bellydancin is very hard withe xtremely low body fat like i have because it s harder to jiggle.

    so:

this woman is a PROFESSIONAL dancer, well known and booked also in countries like turkey and india, you can check out on youtube too. she s an educated fitness instructor.

any doubts she s perfeclty fit?? show your qualifications whoever thinks they re fitter...:)

  • She is NOT fat. It's called Curves you dumm ass

  • omg she is not fat...she has mass...get over it...if you dont have any thing but bones and skin you're malnourished...people with the kind of thinking you are portraying is the reason that young adults are standing over the toilet gagging themselves or taking laxatives or not even eating at all.

Thank you for providing the need of counseling and health problems for them....

  • yeheey bravo your right...

  • she's not fat!

if I had her body I'd be fucking ecstatic!

  • you need to have your eyes checked! what do you weigh 20lbs? How could you even think she is fat? She's beautiful and so is everyone else who is comfortable and happy in themselves. I feel sorry for you!

  • That is NOT fat! If anything that's pure muscle! Have you not looked closely at dancer's bodies? Their gorgeous!

  • that's really excellent!!
