  • COMMENT TO UPLOADER: YOU DID A GREAT JOB IN YOUR VIDEO I SHOWED THAT TO MY UNCLE A FORMER GREEN BARETT AND HE SAID THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO DO IF YOUR ATTACKED BY A KNIFE

  • COMMENT TO OTHER COMMENTS: WOULD YOU REALLY HAVE THE TIME TO PULL THE HAMMER BACK OR COCK THE PISTOL IN TIME TO GET A SHOT OFF? AND YOU WOULD BE THE ONE WHOS ATTACKED FIRST BECAUSE HE WOULD SEE A BIG LUMP IN YOUR COAT OR PANTS.

  • @GlennyMac17 From a defensive standpoint, I carry condition 0. One in the chamber, full mag, hammer cocked, safety off. But that's Defensive wise. I totally understand and agree with you though bro.

  • When im charged by an armed person i just scare them away by whipping down my pants and play with my scrodum....... What? Am i the only one?

  • Thats why you carry a gun. A nice .45 slug in the melon would change the attacker's mind. Knife is the last resort.... Unless you are the master of masters in knife fighting. Even then, you don't know if the attacker has a gun in his weistband as a backup. But, whatever you do, distance is your friend. And if possible, always put something between you and the attacker. Just MHO.

  • Torqe27: Your technique may work on someone with no training who's armed with a knife, but moving in unarmed on a trained knife fighter is the last thing you want to do. You don't want to be where they can make cuts to the body as well as whatever limb you're trying to hit them with. You back off, deploy your blade & let them come into your range. Then cut whatever they give you. I don't agree with the repetative whipping motion, as you're just telling the opponent, I'm just gonna keep do this.

  • that cat got past your fence

  • problem with this is that the attacker would be stupid to repeat the same attack like that. they will probably have a little more variety than that. Thats one of the things you can't learn though a video.. you can never tell what the attacker's next move will be. They could back off and improvise a new strategy before you get your knife out.

  • as a master in tae kwon do, i was taught to always move in and place yourself between the attacker and the knife. from there, just use elbows and knees to crush the pelvis, rib cage or throat. this is much more efficient than continually stepping back and trying to retrieve your own knife. circular blocks are effective in some situations but you may end up deflecting the knife into other areas such as the inside of the leg. if you cut the femoral artery you have only minutes before you die

  • The dog LOL

  • I was taught to always open the blade if attacked why take a chance the strike will be enough to stop an aggressive attacker possibly on drugs feeling no pain? neutralize threats quickly so that they do not get lucky and hurt or kill you

  • what folding training knife are you using in this video? looks great

  • @WeAllJuggleKnives Could'nt agree with you more. And to all the people who say "well just bring a gun", what are you going to fight with when you have no ammunition left?

  • i feel like i would just punch this bitch in the face before he pulls that knife on me

  • Look at this napoleon dynamite cracka. Nigga if i try to rob you i'll shoot yuh in da face. Gotta keep a heatah in deez cold streets

  • my only comment is that if you attacker is coming with a knife, he is already using deadly force. im not understanding the thought to use non-deadly force against his already use of deadly force. i love the training videos, but we should train realistically and try to take some of the "classroom" out of it as much as possible. i understand wanting to show that the folder can be used as an impact weapon. but in the scenario/drill shown, id point out knife vs knife and impact as secondary...

  • OMG! KITTEY! :3 AT 1:14 look at the right side going under the fence :)

  • Can you really learn knife fighting from this vid?

  • @fake1009 no but it gives you a good idea about what is being taught out there. Videos are secondary to finding a good instructor. This is just an example of one scenario and one way of training. If you are interested in learning this kind of thing it is best to find a FMA/Silat or Combatives instructor and put the time in to learn. If there is no one available in your area then it is time to get some videos from James Keating, Hock Hochheim, Lynn Thompson or someone like that.

  • hey chbedok, have a look at piper knifefight.

  • who swings a knife like that? this is suicidal

  • can anyone refer me to good knife combat videos online? jus for kwledge purposes, not for any, u knw macho, bs manliness shit. just for my personal intrests. pls an thnks.

  • Have your training partner come after you in a realistic way ---full speed and multiple fast attacks coming at you with forward speed ---you will very quickly see that the ideas shown here are not realistic at all---- have a look at the lynn thompson youtube vids on knife fighting---a lot more useful for your training

    take care

  • That's funny carry a knife to a gun fight. I carry a XD .45. cal. Go ahead pull your knife. I'll remove your head.

  • @snipedroach This video is about self-DEFENCE. If somebody wants to attack you with a knife and you carry a gun, go blast him. Not everybody can legally carry a firearm (for example, people in Europe).

And yes, if somebody attacks me with a gun, and I only have a knife, I'll probably end up wounded or dead. But isn't it good to at least know some techniques in case the 'bad guys' also only have a knife?

Also, as a gun owner you shouldn't be so trigger-happy. I would be too though :p

  • @ph34rn0d34th Thanks for the reply. Not all knives are that bad. Some are even good for offense. Like My hand made Honduran machete. Looks like a sword. Or my favorite meat clever that has 22 inches of cutting eage and 16 inch handle.

  • @snipedroach 21 foot rule applies. if you tarry, i'll disarm you.

  • As usual a bunch of anal retentive pussies commenting on a knife vid they found scarey. If you don't "believe" in knife fighting as a concept, why it is you ALWAYS seem to watch and comment on every knife vid? "Just bring a gun" or "just run away" are moronic statements, as they assume you get to choose the time, place, and conditions of any attack on you. In other words, you're such a pussy you can't even admit anyone MIGHT attack you where and when easy escapes aren't built in ...

  • @WeAllJuggleKnives

    I fully agree

    finally a smart comment!

  • @WeAllJuggleKnives

    I fully agree

    finally a smart comment

  • @WeAllJuggleKnives

    Exactly

either harden up or die, little bitches.

Whether or not you fucking feel comfortable with a knife when a guy is holding a glock to your head, or a switchblade to your jugliar he won't give a fuck what your comfortable with.

  • Knife fights are for movies and people who thnk they're cool and end up hurting themselves. Seriously just bring a gun. Unless you have any idea or actually know how to use a knife it's not for shits and giggles

  • @Firecloud500 this is usually for people that cant afford guns. i am just a kid, so i am forced to carry a knife.

  • say what kind of knives where used in the video ,what brand?

  • After all, i can say, knife fighting is a good combat sport, not so complicated, have basic rules, techniques, but not good in self defense. I practice russian style knife fighting, and throwing too, since many years. In this sport, the key is the movement speed, and the tactics, the fast mindwork, not just the bodymoves. If you have a confrontation with a faster guy, you lose..or be sliced..don't be fool, run, break the fuckhead's fingers with a steel pipe, but DON'T GRAB YOUR KNIFE!

  • Knife fighting is a joke. In reality you dont play rambo you run away. Use your surroudings, And you arent safe from anything unless your at least three steps away. In a knife to knife fight Almost alway do both persons end up with really nasty gapping cuts that will require immediate 911 and multiple stitching to save your life. rarely does one person walk away with no wounds. remember to bring your stitch kit.

  • dude i totally agree , i mean sure if you train lets say , kali, knife fighting u can go up against a kali knife fighter but random ppl dont adhere to those rules and they arent gonna attack u in a way your used to . I always found (and i DO speak from exp here ) Dude pulls a knife you either pull a bigger one or run . As for defensive tactics i always found a swift kick to the face did the trick whats he gonna do slice through my shoe? not likley

  • maybe stab trough the shoe as a reflex?

slicing is possible though with a sharp enough blade

  • True, the best thing is running, or grabbing a chair, or an entire door, and smashing with these instruments your attacker..if you have enough adrenaline in your head..but if you have some skills, and counterattack with a knife against your attacker, you become the evil guy, if unfortunately kill your opponent..and go to jail..yes, these are complicated things, there are no allround-good answers..

  • its a basic principle when in a knife fight

    expect to be cut

  • lmao 1:18 a white cat crawls under the fence!!!! hahahah

  • ive been in a knife fight and i couldnt even draw out my knife

ive boxed no knife because my opponent was too fast.

    ive get cut twice

then i smashed a bottle into his face an run

    no knife at all

it was all time in my pocket because you dont have time to open your knife

    thanx

  • Sounds like some quick thinking. Way to use your souroundings. So many people forget that the nearest weapon is a box or a chair. The best way to get your knife out is to make space between your opponent, but sometimes you have none

  • Been in the same type of situation. Had an expensive fast deploying tactical folder IN MY POCKET the entire time, but I never had opportunity to draw it. Just happens too fast. Had to dodge to the side, still got cut, grabbed a broken branch, struck and ran. Unless you are lucky enough to see the attack coming, I suspect this will be the most common type of result. That being said, I still think it is a good idea to have the knife as an option, so long as one trains & is mindful of its limits.

  • Alright interesting...where do you learn such a thing or is it a western "style" ?

  • if anyone of you guys realy want to learn reality knife fighting look up kali knife fighting a filipino martial arts taught by gran tu hon lee gaje very impresive art

  • Philipino arts is great, i have been working on some of my own knife fighting techniqus with soem friends, with filipino arts as the base

  • This really is not a realistic combat situation...these tactics would get you stabbed. If you are serious about using offensive knife tactics, or defensive, youtube is probably not the best place to learn...especially when any person with a knife-hard-on could post his "tactical video".

  • Most knife attacks happen imediately. Alot of times, people don't realize the attacker has a weapon, knife or gun, until they are hit. You won't be able to go into circular parries if you are already Shanked. The attacker won't openly present a knife at long range for parrying... and if he does, run.

  • finally someone with a fucking brain speaks up on all this knife system bs . Anything with the title "system" is flawed since un trained persons do not fight systmatically ,ur totally right my friend if someone ,like me, wants to knife another he wont see it comming until hes bleeding but i guess ppl want to beleive they can be mr.action movie fighter -.-

  • thanks. There are only a few things you can do if someone pulls a knife and you see it and cant get away. Obviosly the best thing to do is run, but if you cant one simple move is to put your foot on their leg obove the knee and push with your leg. this will set them off balence and may even put them on the ground long enough to get away. This leaves your body out of range, or just send a good kick in the crotch. There is no shame in that if they wanted to kill you

  • lol @ the cat, hay guyz! what's happening in dis vid??

  • i know

  • Uh, it's real easy to defend yourself aginst Mr. Andy moving at one quarter speed. While at the time instructor tells you that you can defend yourself from multiple advesaries with knifes. That crap only works in movies, kinfe fights are nasty...

  • Might want to check out Michael Janich...

  • Yep,he's a good teacher. Simple, forward, no-nonsense presentation of self-defense basics

  • good video nice and simple

  • This guy thinks alot when someone is coming at him with a knife. Would what he would do if someone is coming with a 870.

  • the same thing as everyone else! Shit.

  • why does he sound like earny of sesame street!!! "hey burt"

  • bad audio quality? :P

  • LoL ,1:10 sec cat squeezes under the fence!

  • lol no its @ 1:15, the most entertaining part of this video.

  • lol no its @ 1:15, the most entertaining part of this video.

  • @N3390: In Germany you are allowed to make use of lethal techniques if ur enemy is trying to kill u or using a weapon which could injure u deadly (eg a knife)

  • Would it be illegal to attack someone that tries to kill or mug you or something?

  • I bet that cat knows a thing or two ;)

  • I SEE A CAT!

  • that looks nice but as far as i can see this, you have already died 5-6 times and it is only halfway to the end of the vid.. it is impossible to thwart a skilled thugs knife - it will cut your hands

  • i was in discussion on forums with kenjutsu dans ... if some1 has a knife and he isnt cutting you... he doesnt want to...

  • haha the "attacker" looks kinda robotic

  • Aww, c'mon attacker. Get a grip man. Rush that instructor full force, grab that idiot and start pumping with the rear hand, full speed, full power. That's how you attack with a knife.

I'd love to see his defense for that!

Everything is easy slo'mo with a compliant attacker.

  • true, best tactic which i use well in knife fighting tourneys (the ones with a red tip for marking) is rush with 2 or 3 strikes and then jump back, unless you have superhuman reflexes you dont want to be within reach of a knife, so if you got a stab in its better to keep your distance and hope he bleeds a lot and gets weak.

  • Hmm.. You can try that. Go to a Escrima, arnis or silat school and try it. Then .. if you are still alive, tell me how it went.

Ir you rush me with a knife, and I have a knife I can slice you also. The one that attacks first gets it then. Try it your selves. If both got some skill it ends in stalemate or the first to attack dies.

  • lol that is true but hes doing it slow to show us what there doing

  • 01:16 he should have thrown his knife at that cat

  • That cat was HUGE.

  • Anyone else see that white cat go under the fence? lol

  • great video, what are some good folding knives in your opinion ?

  • A friend who is a police officer recommended Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT). You can find them pretty reasonable on some online auction sites.

  • i like SOG, but they're twinkies in some people's opinion. Remington (says it all), Surefire are nice but really expensive, Jeeps are nice and not expensive, Pathfinders are good but they don't really sell folders, Parellex is good, Xtreme is not bad & pretty damn cheap, and CRKT's are pretty good, but we don't prefer them. N E way, i hope that helps

  • ZT0200, Benchmade 710, Benchmade mini-grip, Benchmade mini-skirmish, kershaw storm, ZT301.

  • i prefer the stormII ... its oversized, and has that nifty quik flip tab at base of blade...

  • so....what move does he do when someone pulls a gun? Cry?

  • hahaha... like what steven seagal said in the tanduay commercial, i found gold in the philippines... hehehe...

  • steven seagal is better

  • Good video.

  • Excellent video
