  • This film is utterly amazing. The emotion that it evokes creeps in very subtly. At varying points I laughed, scratched my head in wonder and finally, before I knew it, I was crying. It's Oshima, man, what else can I say?

    Kato Kazuhiko's performance is like the Japanese movie-universe Lennon...if that makes any sense to anyone but me. What a fantastic musician. It's a shame he decided to go so soon.
