  • That kid takes that ball TO THE DOME at 1:22

  • Hit #1 on the Billboard country chart for 1 week in Aug 1989

  • Great Song. Makes me think of how we were a bit more free to do what we wanted to do about 20 years ago. Our freedoms are eroding more and more every year. At least there are some good country videos to remind us of what freedom was like.

  • I love this song and Marty Raybon's singing. The words to this song reminds me of the way I was raised. I sure miss those days. The world has gone crazy these days it seems. We cought those fireflies he sings about, what fun it was to be a kid then out in the country. Today my grandson has all the gadgets and gidgest he can fill his days with. He doesn't know about Pop's childhood and I can't understand his. Trusting God to take care of us all. Peace, Sherrill

  • Thanks for adding this song. I love it...one of my favorites!

  • i first heard this song 22 years ago when i was in 8th grade, good memories.

  • I truly cherish the fact that I was born and raised here in the south. I wouldnt have it any other way! May God continue to Bless us here in the Southern USA. This world is going thru changes that may change the way of life as we know it and I cant think of any other place I would rather be than here in the back woods of Georgia! Love and Peace to All.

  • This song suits NW Georgia to a T!

  • Truly a beautiful song.

  • @WillieRebel1 Thank you buddy :-)

  • From 1:55 to 2:01 is Marty Raybon's real son. In fact he is the son that is in the military and fought in Iraq.

  • this song just take you back to a simpler time when time was not that important, and family was around, love mattered, and the future seem so far away and u lived for the day

  • LOL at the one black girl, who must have been kidnapped because her parents were no where to be seen. Red neck paradise

    lol

  • @RabbitGonnaGetYa maby her parents aint Christian but God bless em for allowin their child to see the light. God bless Dixie and the little girl!

  • @803honda Like ya say guests are always welcome and the Lord don't care about color! And any true Southerner is good enough for me, BTW there's also a young Black boy @ 1:37.

  • i was raised in the south--- i love the sundays in the south

  • i loved the Sundays in the south

  • Man this song is home to me, but the yankee, liberal, carpet baggers are trying to destroy it for us. I wish they'd just go home and leave us be...

  • @CNS2 100% in agreement with you my friend

  • @CNS2 Amen brother

  • @CNS2 You don't need to look north for liberal carpet-baggers. The two worst ones this country has ever seen hailed from Arkansas and polluted the White House for eight years beginning in 1993. They did more damage to this country than most people will ever realize.

  • @dwarfdog not much argument from me, but the one in there now puts them and Carter to shame.

  • @CNS2 I know what you mean. Live in the north but head'n south to Kentucky for Thanks Giving. Miss it so much.

  • @rita46ful Well welcome back "rita" my Mom's side is from Kentucky. I hope you and your family have a blessed Thanksgiving in the South, God bless y'all! :-)

  • everybody this im proud to say is my hometown of tuscumbia alabama

  • @kix96fan florence here

  • One of the greatest songs every written!!!

  • @Mulli4351

You have to be from the south to appreciate this song. CNS4 I agree with you the south may have to rise again. The liberals are out to destroy this country and it really is heart breaking to see whats happening to our country. They want to bash God and the judeo christian values that built this country and yet relish in all of the fruit from it. It is disgusting. Long live the south and all those that love the good ol' USA for all she is flaws and all, we are the light of the world.

  • @ruraltexashighway You have some good political points. I look at the state of Vermont, very liberal, and hypicritical because they are 95% white with the only socialist US senator in congress (Bernie Sanders). I like how some areas of the country can scorn the south and they are some of the most racist and hypocital people. I mean they should be more open for blacks and mexicans, and they should have no right to tell other states how to live until they become more diverse.
