Quetzalcoatl is the feathered snake god of the Aztecs. According to their legend, Quetzalcoatl was loved by the people and aided them in their endeavors. Another god named Tezapoca deceived him out of jealousy, and when he realized he had been fooled, Quetzalcoatl built a ship and left. I named my own snake after Quetzalcoatl, and true her namesake, she's a gifted escape artist. There is an exception, though; she always comes back.

In Nahuatl (the language of the Aztec):

Quetzal = Splendorous bird

Coatl = Snake/Serpent

And it is pronounced "Ket-zahl-ko-aht"

This Summon has the BEST Sound Effect When GF is Called upon On the PC Version, WAAAY better sounding than any Playstation Portrays it.

-It's like the quality of the PS & PS2 Lowered all the cool sound-effects in order

for this game to function.

GET FF8 for the PC- The Sound EFFECTS ARE Much better & more Dramatic.

I think it's been Midi enhanced just like

FF7 was for the PC.

in PS-1 version of FF7; however; One-Winged Sephy has singing lyrics while PC ver doesn't.

In French, "Quetzalcoatl" is pronounced "kwe-dzal-koa-tel" ^^ But we often call it "Quetzal". Shorter and easier x)

Quetzalcoatl has always been my favourite summoning :) FF8 was the first fantasy I played, and my favourites in the game was Quistis and Quetzalcoatl xD
