@alyogan I have been there often and I agree that there's more to the TL than that shown in this video. But the purpose of the video is not to showcase the Tenderloin but rather to show the poverty. The use of the word "Lowlifes" in the context of the whole fictional storyworld is not to describe homeless people in that way but rather some of the other characters
The video itself is well made but you portray the TL as being only full of awful people and cruel things. There is sad things going on in the TL but it is full of people that are real and caring and full of life. It is one of the only areas in SF that has people who look you in the eyes and love your conversation. You are dead wrong about it being disgusting and full of lowlifes. If that is your take on it, I would encourage you to go there and have an open mind. You just might surprise yourself
I was prepared for a fight. But you took real material, and you made a good story out of it. Most people won't even bother to look at the homeless. They can't clean up for lack of public toilets/showers. Lots of people are one mortgage payment away, but few are intrepid enough to manage such a rough life. I couldn't do it. I lived in the hotels: I was privileged. The TL is not nice, but it's real. I'll never understand how the City can just let humans die a painful death.
@gayforlife2020 BELIEVE IT OR NOT LIVING IN THE TL AS A DIRTY BUM AND SPENDING ALL UR SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS AND FOODSTAMPS ON CRACK OR HEROIN IS A CHOICE.
@ITZDAMOBB Yes, a poor choice. Who has not made a poor choice, or a series of them? Real chemical dependency added to poverty, possible mental illness, and a capitalist caste system is going to perpetuate the situation in the TL (or in other places similar to it). Telling an addicted person that it is just their fault is not going to help thousands of people who are struggling to hold it together. The system is rigged: hotels charge almost your entire check. Foodstamps: hard to get in Cal.
@gayforlife2020 FIRST OF ALL FOOD STAMPS ARE EASY AS FUCK TO GET. ESPECIALLY IN SAN FRAN. ANYONE CAN GET EM. JUST AS LONG AS U DONT HAVE ANY REPORTED CASH FLOW U CAN GET FOOD STAMPS. THE ONLY HARD PART ABOUT GETTING IT IS WAITING IN LINE FOR 20 MINUTES.
U HAVE NO IDEA WHAT UR TALKIN ABOUT. THE "HOTEL ROOMA" IN THE TL ARE RENTED OUT BY THE US GOVT AND THE CITY OF S.F AND ARE GIVEN OUT TO LOW INCOME PPL FOR FREE OR VERY CLOSE TO IT.

@ITZDAMOBB you're a fucking retard and you obviously have no clue what you're talking about. Oh, and I'm sorry you didn't get the memo, but only retards type comments out all in caps.
@SugarSigur SO INSTEAD OF TELLING ME WHY U DISAGREE WITH MY COMMENT U CALL ME A RETARD AND TELL ME THAT ONLY RETARDS TYPE IN CAPS. REALLY?? AND U WANNA CALL ME A RETARD... LMAO
I used to live just south of Market between 5th and 6th. I recall walking around or over passed-out winos, bodies prostrate, fluids draining onto the concrete. The smell was stale urine and Nightrain. I remember strip clubs in the Tenderloin, watching girls in bikinis dancing in front. Prostitutes long in the tooth at the ripe old age of 23 barely making it across the street on two legs. I don't know why I miss those fetid days.

@gayforlife2020 I agree with you. It's the tragedy of the scenes there that prompted us to tell the story. Thanks for your comments.
