  • I use absolut citron with the frangelico, and i bite the lemon with the sugar first but you have to make sure you keep the lemon juice in your mouth while taking the shot

  • Thanks for all the awesome recipes! I went to a bar for the first time for my friends birthday party, I went ahead and ordered my girlfriend, the birthday girl, and I a shot of cake each, and we all were shocked! Thank you so much for giving me great ideas and filling my brain with actual drinks. instead of screwdrivers and monster and vodka lol

  • @donteatdogs no problem, now it's time to get creative. We have another 500+ recipes :)

  • very tasty for sure .. but not in the slightest tasting like a chocolate cake, it tastes like hazelnut and vanilla

  • very tasty for sure .. but not in the slightest tasting like a chocolate cake

  • pinnical vodka has a cake vodka out now...its good

  • The cake is a lie

  • this guy s videos take way too long for a 3 ingredient drink..

  • i dont this this recipe is correct. chocolate cake shooter are made with citrus vodka and frangelico.

  • @DaRealDealNY This recipe is correct. I brought this to a party once a couple years ago...HUGE hit. I did Absolut Vanilla and Frangelico.

  • i was wondering... could u make a cocktail version out of that? with a bit of sugar and lemon juice...?

i've tried the shooter today and it's pretty neat :D

  • I know vanilla vodka, but I cant figure out how this other thing is called :(

  • @infight Frangelico

  • hey is vanilla vodka necessary here? could it still work with normal vodka?

  • @dcoachk I believe it is needed but I've never validated that for sure.

  • @everydaydrinkers actually if you use a citrus or lemon vodka it makes the chocolate pop more

  • @dcoachk actually if you use a citrus or lemon vodka it makes the chocolate pop more. but plain or vanilla vodka works too.

  • do the lemon first keep the juice in your mouth then take the shot

  • fuckin awesome! cant wait to try this out!

  • This is the best shot I EVER had. It's an easy shot, not harsh, lots fun and extremely tasteful. Just like chocolate cake.

  • as a doctor he can explain what you need to drink to feel better.

    doctor tequila!!!!!

  • Have u guys done a russian roluette(Spelling?) Try to find it its a great fun thing to do :P As long as u can handle fire ;)

  • hi,

i'm having a parctical exam on bartending and ive decide to makethis drink, please tell me what can i substitute for the frangelico because i don't have a hazelnut liquor here and how can garnish it when i serve it coz presentation is also a big factor.

    thank,hope you can answer asap.

  • This particular drink is going to be tough to garnish... first, it's a shooter and it already comes equipped with a lemon. So, that's technically a garnish.

To substitute something, it's going to need to be as close to hazelnut as you can get. The goal of the drink is the combination of the ingredients to get you the chocolate cake effects.

Honestly, choose a more flexible drink. This one's HAS to taste like chocolate cake or it's not a chocolate cake shooter.

  • someone told me that kahlua or amaretto could be a substitute for the hazelnut liquor,is it okay and will the taste be the same or at least near to the chocolate cake shooter?thanks again.

  • Kahlua substituting for hazelnut? Never heard of that. To me, Kahlua tastes like a coffee while frangelico tastes more like a peanut butter (it's also used in the peanut butter and jelly shot).

    Try it, let me know.

  • okay,thank you so much!

  • you did remember to shake the bottle after you took it out the freezer dident you

  • sure, but she doesn't shake to well once thicker :)

  • @manticore117 why would you need to shake the bottle after you took it out of the freezer?

  • @CashJM because the pure alcohol will rise to the top at those temperatures and that could be potentially fatal if you drink it

  • @manticore117 oh, thanks for the info (:

  • @CashJM no probs :)

  • i suck on the lemon and the sugar and keep the flaovoring in my mouth an then take the shot

  • Yeah, that would work too, you may not get the intense feeling of the chocolate frosting if you do it in that order, could try both and see what's better.

  • Did this with a bunch of friends. The sugar coated lemon does get a little sticky...but it does taste like cake.

  • Could you do this without the Frangelico? I don't have acces to that at the moment.

  • Can you get a hazelnut liqueur? That's the basic name for what Frangelico represents.

  • Well i can se if i can buy one later. I really want to try this drink! :P

  • i've told all my friends about it, we'll try it soon, everyone wants to ! ))

  • sounds amazing :D

  • If it sounds amazing, just think of the taste! :)

  • It's crazy! Yeah, good on many levels from texture to taste.
