It is your blind spot. Everyone has one in each eye. The retina has light-sensitive cells. The optic nerve is part of the retina. It has no light sensitive cells on it. You are looking at the dot with the optic nerve. Another example. Put two dots side to side at about 2 inches apart. Cover one eye and look at the dot across from it, the vise versa. For example. cover your right eye with your hand, and look at the right dot. The one on the left disappears. Vise versa. Just a part of the eye. JZP
