  • Nick Drake movie coming soon we heard :)

  • @KingsShillingVEVO noooo!!! i hope no movie comes out! it will surely suck and tain his legacy

  • This song assures, everything will be ok.

  • Great song. A true gem of a musician.

  • thanks !

  • amazing songwriting

  • No no no .. the picture swaps come too fast. Slow them down .. this is a song for contemplation. Still .. wonderful song. Thanks.

  • The way the wonderful pictures of the sky, sea. birdsetc., goes so well with the well chilled music of this song of Nicks, thankyou

  • cannot possibly express in any way my love for this song

  • This is the most amazing beautiful song I have ever heard. It is so haunting, and it makes me cry...it's that great.

  • thumbs up if you came here, because of the AT&T commercial

  • okay so im only 13 haha, and this kinda music is soo calming! the reason i told my age is cuase i ppersonally think its weird i like music(:

  • @imawsomeimawsome i like this music*

  • @imawsomeimawsome true im 14 and well i like metal and stuff but this song its so calming and i like it for some reason....i prefer it over some of the music i hear..

  • @XXXDragonBoy27XXX exactly i love like the metallica and all that good stuff until i hear something like this

  • so i was having the worst day of my life and i see the at&t commercial and the song just got to me....i smiled and went online to find out this song (this video) and now i feel happy because this song sort of told me even if you have the worst day of your life something will always cheer you thanks for this video sunshinewings...

  • To hear the voice of NIck Drake makes me literally feel relaxed all over. I thank God he existed even for the short time he was here. It is a shame to think today's generation of young teens do not know or understand this art. I make sure my kids learn to appreciate fine music. They will be the new generation of music lovers from many eras of music past.

  • @3whisperedwords

    you underestimate youth

  • @Furu4392 .....Look around you.....there is potential of coarse, but their action and/or inaction speak volumes and I believe music is a POWERFUL influence.

  • sacred silence i mean im really haunted like a tree.

  • j sounds like yaweh to the angels eyes

  • Like a ray of light piercing the grey mist, "From The Morning" is such a faintly optimistic song on a rather foreboding album. Nick's voice here is so intimate. His whole story is excruciating. He's without a doubt a romantic, and a beautifully fragile soul. I never knew you, but, thank you for existing, Nick.

  • Can anyone actually understand what he's saying???

  • what's the meaning behind this song? lyric wise . its beautiful , and he is HOT so sad he passed away :(

  • Great song , cant get it out of my head

  • Saw the AT&T commercial and fell in love with the song...Thanks to my phone company for sharing this incredible man with the rest of us!!!

  • I officially don't hate this song anymore because I found out that this was made in 1972, not a new song, and I hate most new songs. His singing sounds SO modern!

  • @Beatlesfangoogle His Singing sounds SO modern *IMO.

  • @Beatlesfangoogle

so you hate songs for being new??? someone help me understand

  • @AfterThought13 I said I hate new songs. I like the classics better. I stopped hating this song recently because I found out that this is a rarely heard (imo) classic.

  • @Beatlesfangoogle okay but to like or hate a song for the simple fact of being new or classic seems,... so your telling me if the song was a classic you would like it, but if it was the same exact song but new, you wouldnt?

  • @AfterThought13 Actually, if it was new, I would say that music temporarily became good again.

  • @Beatlesfangoogle

lol, theres still plenty of good music out there, you just got to look for it.

  • @Beatlesfangoogle If it's a good song who the hell cares if it's new? Depsite what a lot of elitists think, there is plenty of amazing music that has been released in the past decade. People should like a song because of the song itself, not the year it was recorded.

  • @fallforthesky11 It's because of what popular music has come to.

  • @Beatlesfangoogle Every decade has had its share of bad music, the 70s are no exception.

  • May his soul rest in peace

  • Beautiful. Very similar, IMO, to Donovan or Cat Stevens.

  • Lovely video. Wonderful Nick Drake.

  • beautiful!

  • Nicely done. Very pretty photos to go with this wonderful song!

  • I think Nick's timing in the music industry was just off. He is a genius no one will deny this. Also at the time, there was an artist by the name of James Taylor who too also wrote beautiful songs and played the guitar very well. I'm partial to Nick Drake because his music speaks to me more.....like they say "the good die young"

  • damn at&t... it just doesn't seem right. Maybe nick would have liked the recognition though? VW and at&t and is enough though. I don't want to see any more fucking commercials with nicks music in it though

  • hahaha at&t

  • I listen to all genres of music..yes even rap, but rap never touches me the way songs like these do. I love muscians you actually sound poetic, and that sing from the heart, whos songs actually have meaning. BUt its sad they dont get noticed the way they should.

  • What is he saying? lol i get only a few words out of this song! lol but i like it.

  • A day once dawned, and it was beautiful A day once dawned from the ground Then the night she fell And the air was beautiful The night she fell all around. So look see the days The endless coloured ways And go play the game that you learnt From the morning. And now we rise And we are everywhere And now we rise from the ground And see she flies And she is everywhere See she flies all around So look see the sights The endless summer nights And go play the game that you learnt From the morning.
  • something about this song makes me wanna fall in love all over again. i feel happy... really content... listening to it.

  • Sunshinewings, thanks for posting.......brilliant.

  • I bet he's watching us from somewhere above.. Appreciating all the praise he deserves : )

  • @mrbigboygay - There are 2 books written about his life. 'Nick Drake - Biography' by Patrick Humphries and 'Darker than the Deepest Sea' by Trevor Dann. Look on Amazon. Hope this helps.

  • To answer, how he died, is as complicated as his life. Such a sad fate for this incredible genius. I can only recommend that you read about it and conclude that question for yourself.

  • @TannieP were would one find a book to read about him besides on the internet

  • how did he die young?

  • and now we rise, and we are everywhere

  • I think this guy was a Pioneer of modern music and he didn't even get the chance to savour it...

  • i think this song is about nick describing a perfect day, or a day in a perfect life, but realizing it's not like that. dont really know what he means by the "game".

    any ideas

  • A day once dawned

    and it was beautiful

A day once dawned from the ground

    Then the night she fell

    And the air was beautiful

The night she fell all around

    So look see the days

    The endless coloured ways

And go play the game that you learnt from the morning

  • its horrific that man with such a creat lyrical talent had such a hard life and was taken so young

  • why you say "such a hard life"? i dont think that nicks life was any harder than anyone's others life, really not.

  • Wonderful...

    BlackDogHat

    London

  • A kitten trying to break into a bottle of milk is the missing image

  • love it good stuff

  • Not only was he such a great musician... but also a true poet... the lyrics, they are so ethereal and autumnal.

  • how did he die so young only 26

  • Comment removed

  • He died from an overdose of anti-depressants. tragic

  • He OCD'd on anti-depressants.

  • Anti-depressants suck!!

  • He over-the-counter'd on anti-depressants?

    I think you mean OD.

  • It's a sad trend amongst the greatest musicians. Live a great life and die young.

  • many people who love Nick Drake are commenting on Ray Coen (raycoenmusic) - his musicality, honesty and vuneralibility

  • I'm a fan of ethnic music, romantic classicism, and avant guarde music... but this, is such a work of art... romantically comparable to that of a work by Mendelssohn or Franz Liszt.

  • i have been looking for this song since hearing it on the vicks advert last year! i was just instantly attracted to it. and have been searching for ages. so glad i found it. x:)

  • Found a new singer-witer.

  • Fantastic Photography,fitted perfectley...*****

  • I wish i had discovered Drake when i was only ten lol

  • Nicks music makes me think of spring, everything awakenning, coming to life, i think it is beautiful. There is also the more haunting darker side to his music, Pink Moon the album has both of these. One of the most underated albums of all time? Please feel free to post a comment whether you agree or disagree (no taste lol!)

  • Man your so right, well said....

  • Hey man i checked out your cover of 'from the morning', good job, i like the strummed take on the song

  • I listen to Nick Drake because I admire his lyrics and gentle voice. The way he saw the world is something I one day hope to be able to understand fully. Not all teenagers are ignorant idiots that only listen to untalented bands such as Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. Nick Drake will always be remembered by the people that see him for what he was: a musical genius.

    RIP Nick Drake

  • this song is very good medicine

  • my favourite nick drake song and a very nice video to go with it thanx

  • wonderful!!

  • The song and the pictures are sooo beautiful! Thanks a lot for posting!

  • fuck you... im fifteen and ive been listening to music like this for a long time...

  • I'm not too happy about the fame Ledger brought Drake's music... I definately appreciate his beautiful memorial video for Drake, but now Black Eyed Dog is gracing the iPods of every 13 year old emo kid in the country... and I think it's defeating Drake's purpose.

  • he killed himself because he thought he was a muscial failure and people did not like his songs. So if he was alive today I think he would be happy with knowing he has reached many people. Do not be a snob...

  • This music is for everybody. What's wrong with emo's, when they like Nick Drake their musical taste is good.

  • I love Nick Drake and his songs!

  • Perfect!

  • Wunderschöner Song und ein tolles Video.Danke.

  • Great video! This "glad" song from Nick is so lovely, thanks!

  • stunning. Nick is an inspiration to me in my recovery, there every step of the way

  • Hi fazleta, thanks for your comment. I agree, his music brings that soft healing touch and inspires the soul.

    Take care, love & peace

  • the song is so haunting it is almost impossible to believe it is really about love of life. almost..

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you so much. I was waiting for someone to post a video like this, using From The Morning. :-)

  • Glad you enjoyed it. :) I made it to honour Nick Drake

Thanks so much for your comment!

    love & peace to you
