I'm a sniper but i'm normally the one planting the bomb in rush I stay about 10 feet behind my frontline most behind but if i see an opening to plant i will.
all they are doin is taking away the whole point of being a sniper or recon for those who will no doubt say sumthing people who think snipers arnt team players are totally wronng a sniper can provide cover and spot other players the whole point of being a sniper is not to be seen so what if they stay in one play hows about players not being dicks and run from cover to cover for a change make us snipers work for it if u can handle it dnt play the game
(The following is my OPINION!!! :D) What is the sniper supposed to do, run in and have a Red Dot reticle or a x4 optic on his rifle. NO. If he/she did, everybody would be complaining that he/she is a noob for running around with a M95 equiped with a RDS. The Bipob in Battlefield 3 has confirmed that this will stop the sway of the scope compleatly, as for the LMG's. Thumbs up if you agree! BF3 FTW!
@YargFTW I had the alpha and the bipod did not stop all the sway. It stopped the side to side sway but did not stop the up and down sway. The glare was to much though. Bad feature. everything else is good.

I don't think lens flare should occur if the sniper is in a building and in the back of the room sniping through the window. The reason why is because that's entirely unrealistic. Also, if a sniper is in a densely shaded area, lens flare shouldn't occur or at least not be too bright. Lens flare should also be based on distance e.g. If I am sniping someone from 600+ yards, and they see my lens flare, it shouldn't be a giant bright star on their screen, but something to catch their eyes.

@TheFilmsCam Uhm... Sniping is made harder in BF3. There is scope sway (which is greatly reduced when using a bipod in prone), you can eliminate all sway when holding your breath. The scope glare gives away your position if you don't move alot. Sniping still features bullet drop, so that's like BFBC2.
I personally can't wait to play the recon. I hated BFBC2 recon (I play alot of recon though, and medic, I'm a team player) for not having that much of a part in the team other than spotting...

@cogsincogs Some weapons have some sway, but the GOL for instance has no sway whatsoever. I play on PC but I doubt there is any difference between consoles and PC's when it comes to sway.
@SomeoneStoleMyNameX2 I played on PS3 for about a year and there's no sway on sniper rifles. I've been playing on PC for 6 months and there is major sway on sniper rifles.
@TouristyPuddle from what we've seen, that means that there won't be any "long ranged" scopes *cough* 12X scope *cough* and that applys to every sniper so it's rushing sniping or bye bye sniping ;)
I love the glare idea, it would be perfect for me. I'm a very aggressive recon, i don't tend to be in the heat of combat, but i do place C4, or mortar strikes according to what my squad mates want it placed. I stay close enough to use the Spotting grenade, and i rarely use the 12x scope unless i'm sniping from a good distance. (ex. Isla Inocentas for the first 2 bases)
If every sniper rifle had the spotter scope equipped and you can't remove it then I'll certainly be happier, along with all the other things they're mentioning.

Don't know if you've heard swordsman, but one of the sniper rifles/sniper rifles are going to receive a flash suppressor attachment in a 'package' (can't remember the name of it) so that the player can be with the team, helping them out more. :)

I'm glad they're going to offer infantry only with no objectives. Rush is too hard to play without your own squad and even then it can still be difficult if you have a team full of snipers.

@ScheduledChaosTheory Thats just what it is though, the most realistic FPS. It never claimed to be a simulator. Also, your not playing as a "trained sniper" your playing as a skin. Skins generally tend not to have training beyond your control obviously.
Sniping in BC2 was way too easy. I doubt that adds any realism.

And you should not be uploading this stuff just to get veiws. The community should be allowed to see the game when DICE wants them to see it. I'm glad they're going to offer infantry only with no objectives. Rush is too hard to play without your own squad and even then it can still be difficult if you have a team full of snipers.

@WhiteMoosey omg, ok first question: are u playing on console, or on pc, because if ur on console then it is obvious you havent been playing bf for to long then because you havent noticed how bad the servers are in the game. i generally do hit the head, how do i know, the classic ping noise you get when hitting them in the head, its just the lag is so terrible that it doesnt register that to the server so really the head shot turns out to be a shoulder shot.

sway is fucking stupid. whenever i hit the range with my rifle i can hold it perfectly still while scoped in even when standing with no support, so why in the holy mother of fuck would a trained sniper not be able to?! for battlefield 3 wanting to be the most realistic fps ever, this is a stupid ass addition that makes no real-world sense what so ever. bullet drop? fine. wind drift? fine. spin drift? fine. but none of this COD sway crap, get that shit out of here.

@ScheduledChaosTheory Thats just what it is though, the most realistic FPS. It never claimed to be a simulator. Also, your not playing as a "trained sniper" your playing as a skin. Skins generally tend not to have training beyond your control obviously.
Sniping in BC2 was way too easy. I doubt that adds any realism.
