Different metals were associated with different chakras, to hide the fact that it was a different spiritual teaching than christianity, which happened to persecute other religions.
Lead was the base chakra, gold was the crown chakra. Most people vibrate at the base chakra level. The smartest people vibrate at higher frequencies by learning.
