  • Well done for getting so far! Even if you floated most of the way!!

My 90 is only just back on the road after bending a con rod in that bit! It was even deeper tho as it had been raining alot!

    Good effort though! Well Done!

  • next time check it first.unnecessary wreck dude.but thanks 4sharing

  • Thank You.

We know from before that this hole is VERY deep.

We were out to have a laugh and thats what we did.

We had it started again in under 10mins and it was no trouble after that.

    Nat

  • you were crazy to start it without at least checking the cylinders. that could have been expensive. good for you

  • We took the spark plugs out and cranked it to get rid of the water.

the car was only worth about £50 anyway, thats like $100, so I wasn't worried.

Especially as it wasn't mine anyway!

  • buy a boat lol

  • uh, dumb.

  • cool video, i want to wheel with you guys

  • oh should have checked how deep it was first hey

  • Were the cylinders filled with water after that one?

  • Yes, the cylinders were full, my Snorkel wasn't very well made, The Speedometer was full too...

We had to take the spark plugs out and crank the engine over to get the water out, it was ok, it played for the rest of the weekend and is still going strong now.

  • Does the dirt or stones in the water not score the cylinders?

My friend done the same in his Rover 220 whilst on the road. Haha.

We tried to empty the cylinders but removing the diesel injectors was a nightmare. We just let it sit a few days so the water leaked past the piston rings :)

Have you tried to make it though there before/after that escapade?

  • It was pretty clean river water, and I'm told the engine still doesn't smoke, so we got lucky!

That play site is in Scotland, 170 miles from me, I haven't bee since - Too cold! I will be there next year tho, hopefully in the new truck I am building.

  • I'd like to go there sometime to watch that happen. I live in Scotland myself and i love watching off road driving. I'll need to look into where abouts it is and how to get there. Balls of steel for trying that one btw

  • no no its not a boat hehe, looked like people had fun to see you drive into the water hehe. hope the jeep was okay
