And I'm not done! Sonic Unleashed was great but it wasn't a platformer, it was quicktime game. Press B to slide, X to boost, A to jump, X to use homing attack, R to drift. And they even had actual quicktime events! NO use of the control stick. You can barely turn when running at full speed. They overreacted to the control problems in the adventure series. That's where the nuance is...they somehow managed to make standing controls even worse in the generations demo. RANT OVER -

Yes, this IS what sonic should be like in 3d. And you hear people say "nope, can't be done in 3d, he's too fast". Well that doesn't make any sense. In a 2d game you can't see what's in front of you, which is why the "classic" sonic games segregated speed and platforming, and if you wanted to combine the two (i.e. not get hit by an enemy) you would have to do it by memorization or pure reflex. In 3d you can prepare for what's in front of you.

2. Download the character file. (be sure to make a backup if it doesn't work)

3.Download WinRAR

4.Open file with WinRAR and extract the file inside.

5.Open Chararacters and put the file inside.

6 Delete Sonic and rename your file to say Sonic.

7.Open the game and if it doesn't work look up "How to change characters in Sonic Blitz.

I have this engine and it's fun! The loops are very hard to complete, thogh. You have to carefully angle the A and D buttons. For platforming:Here's something I found; press X to stop realyy fast.

While many platformers do work like that, the best ones tend to have wildly branching and varied paths. Notice how almost every stage in the first two Sonic games (and many in the third) have a high path with high risk and reward, and a lower path with less of each, and if you fail the higher path, you just to fall to the lower one. That element has been all but missing in the latest 3D games, where there's only ONE path, and any attempt to deviate from it is immediately met with death.
