Our pharaoh hound, Caphir, hated her winter boots too. She bobbed around in them with her long legs like a newborn antelope, looking perfectly miserable. There are alternatives to the boots, though. The pads can be waxed to protect them from cold etc with some kind of special wax you can get from the chemist's.
Pugs were bred purely as companion dogs and therefore aren't equipped with the same harty paws as larger dogs that were bred to be outside. If small dogs get salt from the roads on their paws in the winter, they can get infected and very sore. The vet that we go to said it was necessary to provide Winston with boots to keep his paws from the salt in the winter. To get him used to boots we have to put them on him inside.
Sir, dogs are not humans and maybe putting shoes on the dog is not the right and less funny thing to do. I have no idea why you have put shows on the poor thing but I am sure dogs feet are used very differently by dogs unlike human beings.

Why, today i has two pairs of socks on and shoes and my feet were still numb. Imagine how my little dogs little paws would be without anything on.
My sisters dog is allergic to grass and she has to wear sock when she takes her for walks.

Sir, in this part of the world it gets very cold.
And, like humans, animals need to say warm.
Dogs, like human beings, walk on their feet. Should these feet come into prolonged contact with snow and ice, they will get frost bite.
Therefore, boots are in order.
