What a player, he should have played 100 test matches for England and scored 40 or 50 Hundred, but English selectors didnt deal with his talent properly, thats unfortunate, far better player that Tendulkar ,specially in crunch situations
Best cricketer the county scene has witnessed for a long time, definately deserved a 2nd chance with England. People like Bell who had a poor Ashes series in 2005 got a 2nd chance and in the end came very good, Ramps without a doubt could have done even better in my opinion with a little more time had he been given a shot whilst he was batting at his peak.
Haha England couldnt handle his talent? Yeah he was a very talented cricketer (still is), but it is down to a person to realise his own talent. If he isnt pissed that he didnt play 75+ tests for England then he damn well should be. I cant remember a finer drive in the English game throughout the 90's, but he didnt deserve his place due to repeated failure at international level. The same people that lament his loss blame our selectors for unadventurous selections elsewhere. Go figure that
Yes he is an amazing cricket. Its a terrible shame he isn't playing Test Match Cricket for England and his amazing talent is being wasted very typical of the English to not know how to handle Ramps raw talent.
