    better stay that damn way

  • I want to thank everyone who understands and supports what we do. I've been a firefighter for over 20 years, now. I still run into burning buildings for free. To all my brother and sister firefighters... BE SAFE!

  • i am a retired police officer and i can't for the life of me think of being a firefighter. those men and women are all heroes. i'd rather be shot at, cause at least i would know where it was coming from. in a fire, no way of knowing what will happen next, very dangerous and i admire them all for being so brave. God Bless America's firefighters and my God be watching over all of them to keep them safe so they may go home to their families at the end of their shifts.

  • Firefighting ain't what it used to be...not even close. They don't hire the best for the job anymore, they hire a reflection of the community. The result is often a less effective department. When it's life and death, you should hire the BEST. Anything else is unacceptable. When you have moments to live, who do you want coming in to save you? If you are honest with yourself, the answer is obvious.

  • sorry didnt mean to post the same message twice

  • When I'm called to duty God wherever flames may rage give me strength to save a life whatever be its age Help me to embrace a little child before it is too late or save an older person from the horror of that fate Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me to guard my neighbor and protect his property

  • it is hard for the firefighters when we go in to a burning building

  • it is hard for the firefighters when we go in to a burning building

  • That was wonderful! As a San Franciscan, I thought about a fire chief who died while saving his wife during the 1906 Earthquake. He was one of the fatalities. God bless him (and his wife).

  • Firemen are going to get killed. When they join the department they face that fact. When a man becomes a fireman his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work. They were not thinking of getting killed when they went where death lurked. They went there to put the fire out, and got killed. Firefighters do not regard themselves as heroes because they do what the business requires.

  • "I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling. Our proudest moment is to save lives. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice.

Ed Croker, Chief of Department, FDNY (1899-1911)

  • Great video

  • As a Firefighter with the New Zealand Fire Service I have to agree with mtnfyre..although it is the greatest thrill in the world saving lives and property, at the same time it can be incredibly tragic. The camradre is awesome and makes the whole job worthwhile. If you think this is the career for you, be prepared for the pain as well as the joy.

To all Firefighters.. keep up the good work and keep the Faith.

  • I agree with Zen. I have woke up from a dead sleep crying because of calls before. I have had a lot of fun at this job. you see people at there worst. That means you got to be at your best to help.

if you think this is a fun job because of this movie. go do ther training. and see what you think then, It AINT for the faint of heart. to all of my Brothers KEEP THE FAITH. FTM RFB

  • brilliant song and video, it does a great tribute for all the fire fighters

    THATS MY FUTURE JOB!!

  • I'm getting ready to become one. It's humbling to think about all they've sacrificed and how they continue to do so.

God bless the Fresno Fire Department, and Firefighters across the world!
