Haunting music, not unlike James Horner's score for A Beautiful Mind. As with the recordings of Horner and Rachel Portman, I find Hand of Fate absolutely addicting. Thanks for posting.
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."
Revelation 21:3,4......That's what this music makes me visualize & feel.......
One of the best scores I've ever heard. it used to make me want to cry (and if I hadn't been deadened by tiredness from a long nap right now I might, listening to this) and the whole thing sounds so spiritual. @2:39 always made me think of how it sounded when you entered Heaven. your family is crying but you enter the most perfect place. oh crap, now I am going to cry D;
@SweetMatheson Good point... I do too. most alien movies are just to scare you. I mean, almost all thrillers are but I love that Night's movies are all about the depth, not just to freak you out. he loves smart movies and it shows.
this film has told a great message to all of us. throughout the years it has given me hope and belief that everything happens for a reason, and for good. we just have to look at things deeply
"Signs" was the movie that inspired me to want to pursue filmmaking. To Mr. Shyamalan, my praise and inspiration goes out to you. To Mr. Newton Howard, my respect and most heartfelt thanks for keeping the spirit of this movie alive to me even when I'm unable to see it. Your score defines perfection.
I know exactly how you feel! I've used Howard's music as scores numerous times for my movies. And, even though the thrill of "signs" comes and goes with me, I'll never look at cornfields the same way again. And it does inspire me though. So, as one film maker to another, Good luck and happy filming!
@mndeer29 I did. He's also the voice on the phone in "The Happening," one of the Fire Nation soldiers in "Airbender," and the guy in the line at the stadium in "Unbreakable" X)
Amazing piece. So beautiful. James Newton Howard is my favorite composer. He makes the best (and sadly most underrated) scores. Brilliant. A complete genius. so much power and emotion. CURSE ALL WHO DISLIKE WORDLESS MUSIC!!!
This hand of fate and part one have to be the best compositions off any movie f'ing EVER!!! Seriously, I want the people who care about me to hear this at my funeral. It would remind them of all the great times we had. God I can feel the notes harmonizing with my soul. What was James Newton Howard thinking? Probably thinking about his newborn daughter, totally fits.
@tonres09 you are so right james newton howard puts so much in his music that there is to much to understand, to take concience about but when I hear his music I can only feel good, newton howard has the capability of doing something very unique, he can express very deep feelings by music which could not be done in any other way, that is why by listening the music we can already understand what's going on and that is just wonderful
@tonres09 Jesus man, you totally described how I feel with most of James Newton Howards music!!!! The best I know in life, is to share such emotions which is derived from absolute divine music like this, with others who also recognizes it's divines!
James Newton Howard and James Horner are the men, who changed my life! The sounds I want to hear when I die, is the soundtracks, from these two geniuses!
Wow... 1:20 to 2:00 sends shivers down my spine... It is epic, movie themes just don't get the respect they deserve

I love how the score stops at 13 songs~
Did they do that on purpose, I wonder?
I cry my eyes out every time I hear this song.

I like the way M.Night Shyamalan portrayed the film as a restoration of faith and belief more than the close encounters with the hostile alien race.

Incredible. Amazing.
You can feel the emotion on the entire song, but specially on 2:40 to 3:00.
I still remember that part on the film. The high violin notes and 'A film by M. Night Shyamalan'.
It was perfect. One of the best audio and video synchronization. I'll never forget the scene.
