  • 71 people didnt listen

  • He's so hot!!! he can enter my dreams any time XD

  • hey at 2:12 you can see the mask from masqurade

  • This wasn't in the movie because it was cut out for some reason...and if it was I would have to leave 3 times to cry my eyes out (wishing you were here again and all I ask of you made me cry D'=)

  • @klgrif It was in the credits

  • Heartbreaking, indeed. I saw this amazing movie for the first time the day before yesterday and I started to cry in the end just becase I felt so sorry for him </3

  • wait ! hold my hormones !? i never saw this in the move :D damnnnnn

  • 1.5 Million people are listening nao :D

  • I don't remember this in the movie :o

  • I cried like and idiot :') kkkkkk

  • I love the different lyrics to this melody, though the version of learn to be lonely by Minnie Driver was exceptional, this one is a heart breaker, because it really shows his soft more gentle side, the part of him that just wanted to love and be loved in return.

  • I'm one of the lucky ones who actually got to see the stage production of Phantom of the Opera, (Twice), and I don't think they could have picked anyone better for the movie version of Erik than Gerard Butler!! This movie is phantastic!!

  • I LOVE this song!! I wish it was available somewhere!! (Besides outakes!)

  • JUST KILLING

    GORGEOUS

  • That broke my heart....I would have listened :') :'(

  • Why didn't it show the scene on dvd?

  • Phangirlnumber1 yes! E. R. I. K. Do I need to spell it out again? Gaston Leroux just turned over in his grave. Erik. With a k. Erik. You might want to start keeping your hand at the level of your eyes...

  • Ughh. This man makes my heart smile and frown at the same time.. I just wanna hold him. By farr my favorite song.♥

  • Comment removed

  • A shame that this was cut. It would have added even more humazing tragedy to Eric.

  • @okamido *twitch* It's spelled with a 'k'. Erik. ERIK.

Seriously, there are phangirls that will massacre you for that.

  • @okamido its Erik.... ERIK....GODDAMMIT ITS Erik!!! E...R...I...K!!!! YOU JUST GOT A DATE WITH THE PUNJAB LASSO!!!!!

  • A beautiful phantom... :0)

  • Phantom's voice makes me cry...

  • the dislikes must be because this clip wasn't in the movie :-)

  • Me: Have you ever seen Phantom of The Opera?

Kourtney: No, but I know that everyone is obsessed with it and think it's amazing.

    Me: AND WITH GOOD REASON!!!

  • Lol... This was so written for Lucy... (No one but me and my sis will understand this comment XD)

  • this would be amazing in the movie, prolly a deleted scene

  • damn you Gerard butler your soooo sexy singing as the phantom!! Such a fantastic singer!

  • continue your arguments elsewhere...your comments r not really about the video. plz b kind enough to either stop commenting or send messages.

  • @happilyinsane8 Wait... so you and Lilibud12 are arguing over who is the Phantom's reincarnation???

  • No one would listen No one but her Heard as the outcast hears. Shamed into solitude Shunned by the multitude I learned to listen In my dark, my heart heard music I long to teach the world Rise up and reach the world No one would listen I alone could hear the music Then, at last, a voice in the gloom Seemed to cry "I hear you" I hear your fears Your torment and your tears . She saw my lonliness Shared in my emptiness No one would listen No one but her Heard as the outcast hears

  • @baby55695 It was not in the movie, because it "slowed the action down and didn't add anything to the plot", as I read in a comment on this clip uploaded here by someone else. Too bad, because it is a really beautiful part where you see the soft, emotional side of the Phantom..

  • EC. (^^)/

  • If I had one wish, I would make myself Mrs. Phantom. Eff Christine! LOVE ME!!!

  • ahhh.....! this man has such a masculine voice (at least in the movie).

  • :(

  • OMG ,i will have a heart attace ....where was this ?

  • Lilibud12 if u were Erik in a past life then did u really sing this stuff n music jus randomly played out of nowhere

  • :')

  • Where would this have been in the movie?

  • @PinkCarnationProDux

I think the original idea was to have it before Christine woke up and did the " remember there was mist" piece. But It didn't really fit, because it was too close after music of the night for another phantom aria. Still a great piece of music and singing though.

  • @PinkCarnationProDux It would have made a better credits song. The tune's good, but the lyrics were spooky.

  • @PinkCarnationProDux It's in the credits

  • @PinkCarnationProDux Maybe after All I Ask Of You or before Phantom Of The Opera

  • @PinkCarnationProDux must be a deleted sie a hundred times and never

  • Wow simply wow. I had to remind myself I'm a manly man just to hold back the tears on this one. It hit me as an artist and out cast.

  • Many people would consider me a cold, calloused man who masks his emotions. However, I can't help but cry for Erik. I'm crying now.

  • Reality passes into myth, myth passes into legend, and in a way, it becomes larger and more real than it ever was before. Speculate as you will on whether the ghost ever lived. Maybe in a way that's enough. So long as there is music, in a way, there will be an Erik.

  • Wow, Butler sounds decent here. Now, why couldn't he have sounded like this in the movie.

  • I love how many masks are just lying around his lair.

  • Is this actually Gerard Butler's voice? Or is it the voice they used in the movie?

  • Awwwww : )

Such a sad/sweet song. Whose choice was it to delete this song from the movie? Maybe because they just couldn't find the part to put it in at? O.o

  • @lilbud12 damn dude you're crazy

  • The story of The Opera Ghost is real you know. I know because I was he in a past life. In fact, it was my second-to-last life. Lies claim I was like how is shown in this movie. How is that possible when this guido-looking asshole can't sing or act his way out of a paper bag? I was 6'4' and noseless and Christine was a blonde swede, Webber, you kikey cunt. Kill yourselves fatties.

  • @lilibud12 And how can you prove this fact "Erik"?

  • @MaidenMarve If you would just do as much as skim over Leroux's novel then you would see that everything I've said about myself in that incarnation is true. Further, you obviously can't help the Freudian slip of acknowledging that I was really Phantom by your stating it as fact when asking for proof, pedo. You clearly know nothing about how reincarnation works or you would never have asked such an insane question to start with.

  • @lilibud12 bro, you were not Erik, I was. besides, do you even sing? or Fence? and you probably wouldnt get it if I said you are Hooke incarnate. STOP TAKIN CREDIT FOR MAH STUFF!!!!!

  • @happilyinsane8 Pedo - just thought I'd let you know the reason I haven't posted until now is because Google - the scumfucks hijacked my account.

Once, I had to entirely remove another (due to stalker satanist using its 1000s of pervert channels to complain about me rightly calling its conspiracy evil pedo jew fags etc) channel, cause the Google scum mentioned stole that one too & i couldn't get it back cause of jew pube's idiot verification-code-conspiracy that is allowed to exist.

  • @happilyinsane8 Anyway, Gerard Butler channel- no one claiming to be me in a past life would incarnate and become obsessed with a false version of it in this one. Like I've told your conspiracy once before already, though the physical descriptions etc in Leroux's book were pretty much spot on - most of the story was skewed - and/or fabricated and turned into literary fantasy bs. Are you really so fucking dense as to think that Leroux was ever going to know every word of what was said anyway?

  • @happilyinsane8 Btw, of course I can sing in this incarnation, but I'm nowhere near as good as then, and I don't do it professionally. Where did you hear that you have to do the exact same things you did and as good as you were then to prove you're telling the truth about who you were in a past life, pedo? Where ever you heard it, it's wrong and doesn't make sense anyway.

  • @lilibud12 I pity you.

  • @happilyinsane8 (cont) If that were the case, you wouldn't really have reincarnated, and you'd be stuck in some false-hologram-time-wrap where you're still living out your past life, only it'd be slightly altered by culture. Plus, if that were true, then how can you possibly expect me to believe you were me in a past life when you can't even type proper?

  • @lilibud12 fourth, I am not obsessed with my former life, unlike you, who could probably quote my biography at any number of places, and fifth, you would not be so stupid or insecure as you are that you would have to resort to "trollin" 13 year olds who are smarter than you.

  • @happilyinsane8 Also, even if I had the opportunity to sing profesionally now, I wouldn't, cause of how music has become such a handicapped, mentally ill thing, done specifically to rape people's souls with noise-pollution and nature-spirits/animals etc.

I know what sane music is. It's pro-nature like acupuncture/therapy and mostly soft piano. Piano music should be played during surgeries, but it's not because most surgeons are the scumbag wrong-tech nature-abusers.

  • @lilibud12 one, you are incredibly stupid with an extremely limited vocabulary and an exceedingly closed mind. two, if you were a serial killer, which is bull because I was he, its slightly hypocritical to call me a pedo. three, you clearly have no interest in the arts at all if you think good music is dead. it is incredibly easy to find. ever heard of placido domingo?

  • @lilibud12 Not sure if deluded

    Or trolling us all

  • @lilibud12 I'm definitively going to use "Kill yourself, fattie" in a conversation very soon.

  • @lilibud12 Leroux claims The Phantom was real so I believe him, but according to Leroux's interview with the Persian, Erik did indeed have a nose. Anyway, I love the book but, I like Webber's interpretation of The Phantom better than Leroux's.

  • Anyone else noticed that Erik was THE OG even before that was thought about. hes a boss.

  • omg gerard B its amazing he sings like an angel im so inpress i wish he was my new toy

  • was this a deleted scene or something?

  • the music is the same as the exit credits that was sung by Minnie Driver, the diva Carlotta, "Learn to be Lonely".

  • @bostera86 the scene was supposed to go after All I Ask of You or at the end of the movie. I can't remember what Webber said.

  • For the Phantom of the Opera movie, I'm definately not a fan of Gerard Butler.

For this song though, I definately am a fan of Gerard Butler.

  • I've seen this movie countless times and every single time I hope she stays with him.

  • Raoul sucks! GO WITH THE PHANTOM CHRISTINE!

  • @GLEENCIS She actually does.

  • @Beowulf54rs that just made my day!

  • @GLEENCIS Lol you do know thats not a metaphor she literaly does?

  • @Beowulf54rs OH YAY

  • @GLEENCIS Yeah there is a sequel sadly however 5 minutes after choosing him

    she gets shot =/

  • 70 people ran off with Raoul, and are now living an unhappy life.

  • Comment removed

  • where would this scene go in the movie? anyone knows?

  • @bostera86 It was cut out from the movie, as in they didn't want to include it I think

  • love this story so much. i mean regardless of form i'll watch it. but the movie is definitely my favorite. there was some stuff over on snapsnap i stayed up all night watching. like interviews and behind the scenes stuff. it was really cool.

  • Gerard is so breath-taking. It's like I have no air when I see this movie. Wow, fantastic job Mr. Butler

  • @mschaiga Tell me about it. He did fantastic! Michael Jackson wanted to be the phantom and I think he would have done good but Gerry did really good :) It makes you wanna cry doesnt it? the music is amazing! I dont know why they got rid of this scene. its beautiful!

  • @MJDancingMachine14 I totally agree with you and yes it does make me wanna cry. I actually nearly cried to the movie lol. It's very amazing. True, they had no right to get rid of it. Thank goodness its on YouTube :)

  • this song is the story of my life

  • I didn't see this part in the movie? It would've been good to see!

  • 70 persone hanno ricevuto un lampadario sulla testa..

  • Simply put "Love it" Thank you!!!

  • he has been the best i'v seen so far playing this role Gerad Butler is truly one great actor and singer

  • HE HAS THE BEST EMOTION FROM ALL THE PHANTOMS. SO STFU AND GTFO. THANK YOU.

  • I cried when he sang "Mascarade" slowly, and with so much emotion. It's like the basic summary of his life, I think. But yeah... it's so sad.

  • Umm, Gerard James Butler is the most hottest and talented guy to walk this Earth...jusss' saying...

    thumbs up if you agree!

  • @ColeyyyRiceee Yopu got that right! It ought to be against the law to be that sexy........and he's the best actor I've ever had the pleasure to watch. He can do any type of roll!

  • omg this is amazing! i am soooooo angry they would cut this from the movie! why would they dooooo that? wtf?!! hes awesome

  • I always sing this song silently to my self when no one listens to me when I try to say something. Even with a clear voice. Besides it is my favorite song!

  • I would listen, TEACH ME!!!

  • I want to be Mrs Phantom. *sigh*

  • @MrsJosephMerrick No, you've got a husband. Should leave him to me as I long to have a lover!!!!!

  • so sad he didn't tried heroin with her!

  • @Loepetterson82b Dun do that!

  • if a man EVER sang like gerard in this...LOVE AT FIRST NOTE. I would do anything~<3

  • if i where christine when the phantom gave her the ring i would ask " if i accept your engament do you promise to stop tormenting the ones i know and the people i love and live with me and not leave my side for anyone but me "

  • I love him! Gerard butler was greatcfor the part idc what others think. He's singing might not of been phenomenal but his acting was perfect. I truly felt his sorrow.

  • Like a lot of people, I wasn't a huge fan of Gerard Butler's signing in this movie. It was okay, but not as good as I would have liked. BUT, he sounds great in this song! I'm not sure if it's just more in his range or that I've never heard anyone else sing it to compare, but I think he does a beautiful job with this song. ^__^

  • wow..i like this scene i wish this was in the movie and i could watch this scene all over again! :D

  • wow! where did u find this?? this isnt in the movie is it!

  • somone kill raoul !

  • quase chorando seriamente aqui *-*

  • ok what happen to the phantom in the ending

  • So? I like coffins. But he was a bit eviler in the book.

  • this was a deleted scene !!

  • @AmeleaAF Thanks for your answer! Are there any other deleted song in the movie?

  • God, not only does he write music, he's deep, is an ARTIST and just wants to be loved. I feel /so/ bad for him, and I've read the book. But wouldnt everyone go a bit insane from lonliness, hatred, and just plain discrimination for being different? I feel bad for him, and his life. End of Story.

  • @TheKittylover1 Don't we all I cried when I heard the phantoms child story. But don't worry he comes back to Christine on the musical Love Never Dies. I am DIEING to see it

  • @TheKittylover1 Me too! I was on his side the whole movie. Gerard is such a GREAT singer (he's singing 4 real). I cried watching the Opera & the movie. Both were good!

  • @TheKittylover1 He wasn't "different." He was completely disfigured. Treated horribly, but to be loved by an innocent girl without being judged on his looks, he began to depend on her greatly. His absolute obsession with her drove him mad. How it was written intended for the audience to feel for the Phantom. It is also to show us the shallowness we all have on both ends of the spectrum.

  • i feel so bad for him</3

  • @ everyone. ALWs version is pretty loosley based on the Leroux novel. In the Leroux novel and the 1925 silent film the Phantom is creepy, insane and a murderer. When watching the 1925 film you learn to feel little/no compassion for the phantom. In ALWs version, he is a sentimental , loving maniac. In the silent film yes, he loves Christene but he sleeps in friggin coffin. Case Closed.

  • "You feel little to no compassion for Erik from the 1925 version" Are you kidding? Not to be prude but the '25 version is, to date the most fateful to Leroux's book, in fact. The 1925 version did actually have the scene where the Phantom was playing his violin to Christine at the cemetery, and the duel with Raoul for Christine, these however, were cut, but survive in the form of still photographs. As for lack of compassion, You can see the torture in the Phantom's eyes and face

  • @broadwaynerd99 very clearly, so as for the lack of that, I don't know what you are talking about.

  • @broadwaynerd99 And the "sleeping in a friggin coffin" Was actually part of the book. dumbass.

  • Where is this song in the movie?

  • im listening eric

  • Can't believe this song wasn't in the movie, it's so beautifull, and shows a whole different face of the phantom.

  • Too bad that Christine chose Raoul. Personally, I much more prefer the phantom. But it is a matter of taste

I'm felt sorry Eric, I almost felt his pain when she left him ...

  • Christine&Raoul:thats all i ask of -

    me:YOU!!!

    Raoul: what did i -

    Me:you made MY Erik cry!

    Raoul:who's-

-this scene censored for epic ball kicking & sudden 200 foot drop from roof

  • @phangirlnumber1 hahah XD

christine além de ele ser 100% mais lindo e tem uma vóz mais suave e bonita

  • poor phantom... I'm listening. why would christine ever choose Raoul.

  • (0)0)

  • Erik,im listening!

  • Dear Raoul, you suck. -OG

  • @phangirlnumber1 Why? Because he almost died to save Christine? Because he was not abused terribly as a child so the audience naturally feels less sympathy for him?

  • @Gordonverno Correct.

  • @phangirlnumber1 As a kid- I listened to the soundtrack & loved many songs.. love songs; years later I was distraught to find Raul sang them

    '

  • @phangirlnumber1 Who's raoul?

  • @gamma830 the other man :/ who deeply sucks. He stole Christine from the Phantom

  • Comment removed

  • Lol i would definitaly lose my mind if I lived in a (techniquely) a basement

the rest of my life when all I could do is sing to myself were in this movie

I consider in Erik's case to be a fancier way of talking to yourself and draw.

  • To put an arguement down. The musical is based on the book, not a retelling. As someone who acts in plays and played Raoul in my high schools version, I have this to say. In musicals expression is the most important thing. ALW took the horrible man of Eric in the book and made him sympathetic so that people will have the debate of Raoul vs Phantom. It is all a part of making people love the characters and making it successful

  • They really should have put this in the movie...

  • Oh mah gawd, I need to go freaking cry now! I don't care if he's a psycho!!!!

  • Gerald Butler can sing

  • I wish this would have been in the movie... :(

  • Many a time I have deliberated to myself whether Erik was a good or bad guy. The story plot of The Phantom of the Opera is a complex, intricate one. And no, not just this movie I have seen other versions.

  • @killcomputer The answer is outside your false dichotomy. It's never as simple as good or evil.

  • @Iced1992 I agree, and that's what makes it so difficult. I meant more of an in general- I can't really explain it. But I adore this movie and story line. 'Tis a good one.

  • @RedRosesLast4eva hi again, iknow its been three months since our conversation but i have read the first book and it ends with the phantom dying, so i was wondering how can there be a second book!?!? please explain!!

  • @dineydreamer The Return of the Phantom isn't written by Leroux. Its just published fanfiction.

  • @WaxedLegs oh ok that makes sense thank you! :D

  • @dineydreamer Well, each "second book" is a bit different. In the one I read, Phantom faked that death to get people to stop looking for him.

  • @RedRosesLast4eva oh i see, so there are different "book 2"???

  • @dineydreamer Um... Yeah.... There are different types of alternate ending. Some are based more off the movie, so they can work around the whole "Phantom dying" bit. Then other are more book-ish. Those type normally go back to before Christine leaves with Raoul, so they can change her reaction. Then, like the one I'm telling you about, Phantom fakes his death.

  • @RedRosesLast4eva oh ok, thank you for explaining it! :D

  • @dineydreamer No prob :)
