We did a manta snorkel on Kona in August 2009 and it was amazing. I just wish the other boats hadn't brought so many people and had everyone wearing fins.
man this song brings back so much happy memories, it was a song my class performed in kindigarten. And wow i wud wana jump on one of those manta rays lol
It's the sweetest dive indeed, reason enough to get certified - one of the best experiences i've had in the water. Just try not to touch the mantas even when they come really close to you. Enjoy!
My friend is a diver, she says its awesome! last time i went swimming in hawaii i got attacked by razor fins or something like that. We'll someone threw bread near me and my arm got cut up pretty badly
Touching, grabbing or just being in their way can make them really shy. Touching the rays could also remove the protective coating on their skin and leave them susceptible to infections.
Make time third week of June - i'm planning to be back in Kona around then. And this time, bring a non-disposable camera along! Bruce & co. might come along too.
