The best bullpen in 2009 huh? They not doing much at all that the team is 10 games out of first and next to last place hehe hehe. So i wouldnt talk and half the team is on the D.L. that don't help any. It all about staying healthy for 162 games. That's why you play 162 games in a season........
Wow, the best bullpen? Why? Because you got the most overrated closer in the game and a set-up guy that has never played for a decent team? Yeah, let's see how Putz holds up far from Seattle. Rodriguez? Please. Him and his celebration after getting a single out aren't going to help your Mets. Best bullpen? You seem to be forgetting Tampa Bay, Boston, Philadelphia, and a slew of other teams that have much, much, MUCH better bullpens. Yeah, good luck next year with your "great" bullpen.
anybody who doesnt follow the mets doesnt understand that those arent the only changes that were made. and the phillies pen had a good year last year with lidge being perfect and all, but that won't happen again
How can you be so sure? Brad Lidge has quite possibly the filthiest slider in baseball, and the defense behind him is immaculate (save for Ryan Howard). What other additions give you the right to claim "the best bullpen in baseball"? Keeping Duaner Sanchez? Bobby Parnell? Brandon Knight? Yeah, great bunch you have. Two overrated closers, a bunch of no-name minor leaguers, and most of the same guys you had last year. Tampa Bay and Boston still have the best pens in baseball. Philly's not far off.
added sean green for middle relief, a right specialist in darren o'day, and they might be overrated but they arent bad. remember, i gave the title of best bullpen when they got putz and i was excited. any way, its a step up from last year, no doubt. last year we had a little over 20 games blown by the bullpe. this new bullpen, although it might not be as grat as i said it is, its an improvement that will get us back a few of those blown games. that puts us into the 90 win range.
Oh, I'm not saying it's not an improvement. It's an enormous step up from last year. Still though, I think it's a little premature to be giving the Mets the title of best bullpen before the season even starts. You just need to worry about Beltran and Delgado producing, Wright staying consistent, and try to get Jose Reyes to not be a crybaby. If all that works, and your bullpen holds up, you might be looking at 90-97 wins.
Good call that K-rod is overrated, thats 9-9 in saves for K-rod and a 1.32 era and lidge has been 4-5 in save opps and has a 6.75 era PEACE MOTHA FUC**R
Ok, jackass...not sure if you noticed or anything, but umm...it's 27 games into the season. There are still 135 games for K-Rod to prove that he is exactly what I said he is.
Oh yeah, and let's not forget that despite K-Rod's EARLY success, they are still just a game over .500.
Your bullpen is still overrated, little lady. Please, don't even try to discuss baseball, as you have already proved that you know very little or perhaps even nothing about what you are talking about.
LOL @ Philadelphia compaired to the Red Sox lol. Look one world series championship, in the past 28 years doesnt mean you are the best team ever. Jesus Tapdancing Christ, are all Philthy Phans obessed with all things NY?
Oh right, you're a Yankees fan ahhhhh yes. Of course you assholes would say something like that to Mets fans in that context. So hows Coke and Dinosaur Rivera working for ya???
Thats funny, the rotation isn't too bad actually. When Pelf is on his game he can be pretty dominant. Livian Hernandez is a decent #5 starter, and Oli sucks at the moment. John Maine is so/so at times, but he can still get the job done.
lol the knicks need a closer of their own, we've seen too many collapses this season, they came aganist the mavericks, lakers, wizards, and the near collapse against charlotte
I think the Mets should have made a 1 yr offer to Bobby Abreu. He is a solid outfielder and a clutch hitter. He draws a ton of walks and he will get on base. We'll see how things work out sooner or later
GO EAGLES WIN THE WHOLE DAMN THING.....Hey New York sports fans..was'nt 2008 a great sports year...Ohh yeah not for you,,HAHAHAHAHAHA....2008 World Series Champions Phillies...And so too be Superbowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles....SO SUCK IT......
Thats funny PhillRock98, who played in the superbowl again in the beginning of 2008? Hmmm, thats right the NY Giants. Oh, and we won it too against the Patriots. Remind me, since you went to your fourth NFC Championship. What did you do again? Facts are facts.
You should do a vid on the starters. They would win 105 games if they get Lowe and a corner outfielder!! Bobby Abreu or even Manny if Lowe doesn't take up to much money
nah, we have too many outfielders. we already resigned tatis for the sole purpose of having him platoon with dan murphy. if we added manny or any of those guys, we would then have murph and tatis as more backups, and a waste of salary. if we get rid of any of those guys than yeah, get manny. but only for 1 or 2 years so he doesnt block fernando martinez from becoming a great player
the only thing that worries me is delgado at 1st and the corner outfeliders but i think we have a great team and brad lidges luck is going to run out and david wright is going to hit the ball out of citi feild against him and he will never be the same just like before.
the 7 bullpen guys should be sanchez feliciano green k-rod putz stokes and if they could get another lefty like a beimel from the dodgers i think its the best bullpen then
very nice video see the mets 09 on paper are becoming the old mets of 2006 a great pitching staff and a balanced offence and thats how they won in o6.

By the way, how is the rest of the rotation after Santana?
